I love beer, i have done for many years - it's * fantastic; that first cold sip (or guzzle) after a day's work....chilling out in a social atmosphere a la pub with companions. Until 2 years ago, however, i didn't realise how good it could be...

    UNTIL

Tennents brought out their "Cold" variety - with the special glasses that keep the fizz going.

Best thing to happen to lager ever. Has anyone else seen the light as opposed to it's wamer equivalent (or, * forbid, Fosters and its ilk - great adverts, * lager)?

Peroni all the way. Tennents tastes like * through an old sock. Doesn't matter how cold they make it, unless it's enough to get rid of the flavour.

    Haha - not bad mate.

Aye, Nastro Azzuro is not bad, but predominantly located in bottled and rarely in draught (can't remember seeing it ever, in truth). I don't like drinking bottles in pubs, and Captain T is the business for me!

They used to have it on draught in the Canonsgate on the High St. in Edinburgh. Also, they quite often have them in the Pivos across the land. Went to watch a midday OF game in the 'Gate one time by myself. Had a spliff for breakfast and three pints of the stuff by halftime. Suffice to say, it ended in tears. I end up getting tossed from a Pizza Hut (* knows how I got there), for trying to dance on a table. Strong lagers are the end of me.

I actually prefer regular Tennants to the extra cold. It's a taste thing, the colder ones just usually taste that bit blander to me. Having worked behind a bar I can easily say that more people ask for extra cold though - same applies for Guiness for some reason despite the regular Guiness being more loved by the guys who like Guiness more.

And this my friends is my first day off, and my can of T is calling me from the fridge.

Tennents for me is the best of all the beers, if your looking for a really beery beer, if that makes any sense.

A lot of beers like Bud, Corona, MGD are just too smooth for my tastes. I like the beeriness (?) to catch the back of my throat when I have a drink. Stella is like that, sort of harsh, whereas Fosters isnt.

I agree mate - the Millers / Buds / Coronas of this world are far too sweet for my liking.

Other bottles that are wortha pop if you get the chance (Any one of the Bier Halle places in Glasgow have some of them):

Tsing Tao - Chinese beer, gorgeous.

Bitburger - German, pint sized bottle and is excellent.

Jever. Rarely found unless randomly in Oddbins. Wonderful.

Still none as good as the Cold T though (although im regretting pints 5,6 and 7 from last night!)

Most beers taste great as long as they're just shy of freezing, Tennents just has that certain magic you can't put your finger on for me.

I like corona but an ice cold is the daddy, i'm sitting here salivating at the prospect of a jar actually :56:
