Lets just make sure he gets here, then once we see him in the hoops we can all make our judgements on whether whos better than who!

    Tamas is better though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think tamas will be an amazing signing and i also think that robinson will be in so if u think naylor/robinson,Mick/o'dea,Tamas/Caldwell,Hinkel/wilson/caddis now we have plenty options at the back so everyone will have to play at there best to stay in the team which can only be good

I think tamas looked better than stranzl at the euros in a far superior group.

well said scott, and we have kennedy back in december, and JP doumbe coming back too! things are looking good at the back, and midfield is getting better, hopefully in the january window we can get a world class forward

The main thing that worried me was the quote of WGS saying he was signing players to 'give some of these lads a rest', which sounds like backup. Signing Tamas either way wont be that bad business, if he's * and leave, we command a fee, if he's great, even better. If he's a bit part player £16k a week aint gonna kill us.

WGS obviously see's something in him so let's just hope we can trust his judgement on that. He's not going to make the squad any worse is he? We can always stick to the same team.. it's not a replacement, it's addition, a welcome one too.

People fall out with clubs.. I doubt we'd get one which wasn't CL tied anyways. Not World Class..

Well they did sell their best player in january, so if they had a world class striker they might.

He cost 7.5M, probably on 80-100k a week, was cup tied for the rest of that season and has had 2 serious injuries since then. You only sign players in january if you have an injury crisis or if there is something seriously wrong or you can get the player on a pre-contract and then agree to buy out the rest of the contract. The big deals should be done in the summer. Any player worth their salt will not be cheap in January.

In a move which will cause consternation from the Bourgogne to Bucharest, Celtic have decided against signing Auxerre defender Gabriel Tamas. Not for the first time, the club have tracked their targets discretely as media attention focussed on only one candidate.

Sources close to the club appeared upbeat at recent progress made on strengthening the squad. CQN
