He was fantastic when he came on. There is a player there, definitely, its just about getting the most out of his potential.

I'd actually give him a game up front....think he'd be good

He's never a striker in a million years.

Why would we try and play him elsewhere after finally playing him in his correct position? :56:

  9. I've always liked him, and think most of us knew there was a player in there. Scoring and playing so well in a game against them will help his confidence loads, and I'm delighted BR knows his best position is centrally. Think he can be a big player for us if he builds on from this.

Nah man, its mad aye but when you really think into it he'd be the perfect false nine - like how Spain played Fabregas upfront. He is obviously not an out and out striker but he could make a great false nine.

Hmmm..... not loving the striker role suggested but i can kinda see the logic in it as he can score a few from the middle and has a decent shot on him, has decent pace.

I think the number 10 role suits him though and is a completely different type to Rogic who is more of a luxury type player. Armstrong will give you pace , power, aggression and lots of energy and ofcourse will chase back and harry much better than rogic.

Surely if brown cant make Barca then Armstrong is the best option to replace him?

Listen lads, am no a fucken mad man. This false nine thing is a proper long shot.

What I am saying though is, he has that Thomas Muller thing about him, he has a brain unlike most footballers, I'm not sure he'll make it as a Celtic player, never mind a Celtic Footballer.

He was amazing today, I applauded the sub when he came on, and he done exactly what i wanted an more.

Yesterday was the only time in his entire spell here that I have thought his shooting was decent.

    Usually it is rotten.

It was decent enough when he scored against Inter.

TBF though he was pretty gash last season but we only had 2 players who weren't.

We have to completely write-off the last 2 years as a failed experiment and give every player a fresh start.

I'm actually excited to see what Rodgers can do with GMS

One game out of about 50 odd though and in fairness it was a finish you'd expect most of our players on the park to pull off. His technique when shooting is usually poor.

Armstrong when in the side this season hasn't been that impressive and although he played well, I won't let a half hour against a horrendous Hun side fool me just yet.

I was delighted when we signed him but he has disappointed overall. Hopefully he can make some sort of impact this season.

Given the chance to play in his best position he is quality. He's not a wide player and is a great option in the middle. Tom Rogic is brilliant, having them both available keeps opposition guessing as they are so different.

Just as I had wrote Armstrong off he came on and was one of the best players on the park. One thing's for sure, there is only one position for him. Should give Rogic a run for his money which is healthy for both players.

    Pretty much this.

He has had a good 40 minutes against what can only be described as an average SPFL team. If he can kick on from this great it will be a nice bonus to us but unless he can do this consistently then he should have no future with us.
