Top 10 IMO. Can score from anywhere and probably the best long-ranger in the world. His presence is unbeliavable and is a great captain as well.

I assure you, if this debate was taken on a serious scale with top pundits from every country this would provide serious entertainment.

Anway, I'm glad most people who have voted have a bit of common sense with the majority having him still within the top 20 and then the second highest majority having him in the top 10 still, I think that proves the point.

And how am I biased? Why would I have anything against Liverpool? When in fact, I consider them one of the better clubs in England.

 

I think the only reason this thread was brought up today was so this very silly and biased debate could be argued once again.

* Messi couldn't win games by himself every single week, Gerrard is in a team of very average players, doesn't make him any less of a player.

Like I say, I think the poll results back up my case, very few people think he is outside the top 20.

It's all about views, you have yours and I have mine, I'm not going to convince you he is class and your not going to convince me that he's outside the top 20 midfielders in the world. Therefore, I've had my very last say on the matter.

 

It's in no way silly or biased. Perhaps if he played more often and did all these things you like to glamourise him with doing, then there'd be no need for a debate and we'd just laud him with accolades.

As it is, yes, he's in an average team, but he just doesn't have the capabilities anymore, physically, to drive a team to become more. Because, if you have a clue, you'll be well aware that every Liverpool team he's found himself in has had similar problems to the current one. It's a long time since Liverpool had a genuinely strong team of world-class players, and it was before Steven Gerrard's time.
