Never rated him . My mate used to film for the Scottish under 21s and said every game he was the worst player on the park when he played so I've always watched him closely. He's had a couple of games he's done well for us but today just confirmed yet again he's not good enough again. Lagerbielke deserves a chance for me.

And we hold Morton’s judgement very highly, as gospel like.

Gnabry was deemed not good enough for West Brom. Young guys going on a loan, it’s about experience and learning and developing for us. If they * storm it great, but if a young player builds on it, thats all we want.

We’re such an emotional fanbase. Go back to when he was an unexpected starter against the Huns, and was being raved about, the answer etc.

I like him, but if we wanted him to be a first team answer for us we shouldn’t have held back a loan to leagues like Serie A to have 5 appearances off the bench for us instead just incase. If we let him go develop at a good level on loan, he could have been. But I’m more than happy with him as an option

He's improved since then but there's been many other young academy players who have been let go off the back of such a poor loan. Covid and our boards penny pinching worked in his favour.
For me he's never gonna be good enough and he's probably been denied going on loan/ been kept over others for simple reason that he ticks a box as a homegrown player.

True mate, we let go of Andy Robertson and Aaron Hickey. Well Hickey mixed reports if was let go or left tbf, but Robertson was told to bolt. There’s a lot of youngsters that leave for a myriad of reasons.

    * look at Mulgrew back in the day, he was impressive on loan, we had high hopes, and then he complained about being subbed in a friendly to WGS and was then shown the door, because he doesn’t accept that attitude.

The fact is he wasn’t let go, and has been trusted and rated by 3 managers in his career here so far.

Ange rated him too much that he didn’t think he could let him go out on loan and get better just incase, and that was a mistake for me. He’s homegrown, we need that, and he’s good enough to be an option to come in when needed.

Same way I think about Ralston. They have enough about them, they are good squad members, they’re homegrown and we need that box ticked btw. And I like having proper Celtic men, through the ranks in the team and dressing room. It’s important guys who know the club, stuff the fans find important and the expectations here inside out. For squad players, give me that all day long.

but also, please just give me a fit CCV, so we have our first team. We will never have four CCV level players, 2 backups that quality. Welsh is a great option

WBA Gnabry is nowhere near as good as WBA Mikey as well. Funny ol’ world

They shifted him to rb after a couple of games bcoz he wasn't up to it physically. But to be fair championship and it's route 1 football isn't an easy league for many 18 year olds.
It was just strange that after they way he was spoke about down there he was then in and around our 1st team such a short time later.

By all accounts Deila stepped in and stopped same happening to Tierney as our magnificent youth academy coaches were playing him at right wing to accommodate Callum Waters

Tierney story is brilliant, he was on his way out, wasn’t deemed good enough to be brought away with the youth team and was one of the only young guys about and Ronny needed somebody to make up the numbers at training.

Tierney explained it as him thinking this is the chance to change it, and went in as a spare and had the first team raving about him. And was part of the first team from then on, first choice a few months later.

It’s one of those stories that perfectly capture that luck plays a big part in success but you need to make sure when your lucks up, you make the most of it

Watched highlights from Livi game, absolute shocker for both goals.
Not close to the player and slower than an oil tanker running/jogging trying to get back.
Exceptionally poor, surely either Nawrocki or Lagerbielke are better?

Nawrocki and Lagerbielke are both extremely slow too.

He had a very bad game defensively. One thing I do like is his passing. He's one of the few defenders we have who can switch play as quickly as we need to with crisp, accurate passing.

Lagerbieke is really slow and his distribution so far with us has been honking. I’m not surprised he isn’t getting played. Nawrocki on the other hand would be in my team.

The pair of them looked *. More so Lagerbielke. Looked like a lost wee boy playing for us.

The drop off from CCV to the rest of our centre halves is monumental. We miss Starfelt a lot more than a lot of people like to admit.

For a defender he’s quite poor at defending :43:

I like Welsh and feel he has had some unfair criticism in the past but had a really poor game yesterday.

Got to remember he's basically a teenager with the amount of actual experience he's had. Should have been loaned out multiple years in a row as he's got the height, strength and speed to be decent. However I believe his development to learn the game on the pitch has been hampered and he'll now never be good enough.

I dunno, maybe I'm being too generous given the overall consensus that seems to have been built here.

But this seems like the first game where Welsh has been questioned regarding his performance and been said to have had a bad game.

All other times, least from my perspective, of which I am one of those to do it... he was always damned by faint praise of "never sets a foot wrong" "does a job" and the likes.
