Didn't see the game last night, but Stefan Johansen, man of the match, is a role many believe he isn't suited for. Think he's out to prove his doubters wrong

Only seen the team on my sky sports news app, they had Armstrong on the left and Johansen in the holding role :s lying, misleading *! they'll be receiving a letter of complaint!

The difference between Johansen in the middle 2 and Johansen behind the striker is incredible. He is never a central midfielder but in that attacking role he has such a massive impact. Armstrong also suits that role though so we have good competition for places.

He's showing that he is a complete midfield player. Never stops running, closes down, links play up, and scores goals.

POTY by a distance for me.

Loved his wee jinking run through three defenders last night when he looked like he had nowhere to go. But for a great save from Fox it would have been a great goal.

A season or two ago I was worried who was going to be our long term replacement for Commons. Not worried in the slightest. Johanson is a fantastic player. Technique, fitness, stamina, attitude and work rate. I just fancy the guy.

Tough call for me between him and Gordon for poty. Think Gordon has been incredible too.

He's a machine. Was really sceptical when he was in the deeper role, but now when he is bursting from midfield with that energy he is terrific. Reminds of a younger broony in that regard.

I really dont like him in that deeper role at all,we go back to being pretty */average when hes forced back or out wide.

I don't even think it's that he is bad in the deeper role, it's just the team is set up so much to need his energy further up the field we suffer greatly when he isn't there.

For instance, if you swapped Broony and Johansen's roles, I think you would still see the same sort of fluidity and energy from the team (granted, Broony would never score anywhere near what Johansen has this season) but when you don't have that energy and pressing high up the pitch then we become disjointed and flat.

  16. No matter who is in front of him, you take everything that Johansen is and is good at, when you stick him back in a 2..

Night and day for me, he hasn't got the patience in a 2 as he wants to naturally burst away in to heels..

What a difference in a player from a tweak, guy is top class..

Very valid point :50: Both Broony and Johansen are vital in the style that Deila has implemented in the way that they give us great impetus and drive. We're definitely a much weakened team when either is not in our starting eleven. Both rightfully strong POTY candidates.

  18. Where was he playing when I posted that?
