St Pauli - Celtic party 2013

Anyone know when this is happening next year? Usually February as far as I know, love to go back... * love St Pauli

 

Any info on this? Would love to make the trip over.

 

I think this will be the weekend of the 22nd Feb this season, with the St. Pauli match against FSV Frankfurt on the Sunday (24th).

Good news for folk travelling from Scotland is that EasyJet now do a direct flight from Edinburgh to Hamburg. Folk usually had to go to Bremen and then get a train to Hamburg.

Can't manage over for the party this year but i am definitely going to a game at some point this season. Anyone on here travelled over before?

I am now a bit unsure on how to get tickets. I know the Fanladen used to keep a small number of tickets for those travelling from outside Germany that they could buy once they had travelled over. But i now see on the St. Pauli website that you can write to the club well in advance of a game and buy tickets which they will deliver to you before you fly over. Anyone got advice on this? Not neccessarily from just a St. Pauli experience but maybe just from past general football tourism, how you acquire tickets for matches held in other countries?

is that Easyjet will be operating a service to Hamburg from Edinburgh by

Is massive and well worth attending and just across the road from the venue
But also means that hotels will be busy so better to book as soon as possible

The game is in April this year, 14 of us going

 

The day of the game has still to be confirmed. Will be a bit of nightmare if it is on Monday night, Friday night also wouldn’t be ideal.

 

Would love to go to this,got an Uncle in Hamburg who says in the St Pauli area too

 

Lucky you. Better just going over for a St Pauli game away from this weekend to be honest.

 

I've been to two of these and they both had 12:30 on a Sunday kick off times. Personally I found them a nightmare! ( Against the same team as well Gruether Furth.)

 

Friday night would be best but doesn’t suit Edinburgh flight that much. Next best is Saturday 13:30.

 

Anyone know when game date and time will be confirmed? I've booked flights already, hoping it's not Monday evening!!

 

Not for a while yet. They just released the latest batch of dates on Thursday which covers games from February 15th to April 1st. So except the 1860 game on the weekend of the party not to be announced until middle to late February. Little chance of it being Monday night.

Alright bhoys!? Thinking of heading over but will be on my own... Any advice for cheap hotels/ hostels in the area? And also is there usually quite alot of tims over for it?

 

I would take the Jollyday Inn at the Jolly Roger Bar.

 

Stayed there a few times, worth a try but I'd imagine it will have been all booked up by now.

Best bet just to go to hsotelbookers.com or booking.com and search for hotels in St Pauli area. Hotel Figaro usually dirt cheap. Also, try Hotel Pacific - will have to email them but they usually have plenty cheap rooms.

 

Any update on game time and date yet bhoys? Also, which area of ground is best for the craic? South stand? That where ultras are?

It says match is on Saturday at 13:00... does anyone know is that 13:00 local time or GMT? i.e. 12:00 local time? Flying in that morning so will be a bit pressed for time to get a few scoops before the game!
