Overall Lenny has brought in a goalie, RB, LB, one CH, 3 CMs and 2 strikers all of whom are arguably an improvement on the crap that Mogga had reduced us to when Lenny took over. That is 9 new first picks. I am ignoring Mulgrew and Murphy in that list because I think Lenny already knows they are not up to being first 11 men. He also, like WGS with Maloney and Aidan, has been instrumental in bringing on a great young winger as a regular 1st team player which is as good as a signing. So overall yes. I am impressed. I am also a realist and have to be clear about the money/wages and level we have to trade in. So, like WGS Lenny looks like he might manage to downsize but actually make us a more successful team at the same time, which is what clubs love (even if fans do not always appreciate it).

The only bad aspect is that I think an element of doubt must remain that we did not get another CH and maybe another striker that would be needed to guarantee burying Rangers limited but very experienced, battle hardened side

I'm sure it was in reference to Lenny getting the job.

Agreed! :50: I'm happy. I've said in another thread if we can't win the SPL title this season there's something seriously wrong.

    Some people can't be pleased!!

I'm happy! Sure the countdown was an anti climax but the whole window was gOOd.

    Almost a whole new defence
3 potential stars in the middle
3 new strikers. Two with great scoring ratios

so we never got keane or bellamy. We don't need them to win the spl.

maybe better in the sense that there isn't a player who earns twice as much as the majority of the squad.

Lawell said this in response to a question posed by a member of the public that day.
    The question was this:
"When are we going to get a new manager? All this waiting better be worth it. There's one man sitting in this room here that i would walk the length of London Road to see leading the team each day and that man is Neil Lennon" - to which the whole room applauded.

In response to THIS QUESTION and THIS PERSON, Lawell said:
"We're all frustrated as Celtic supporters. We're continuing the search as quickly as we can. Please be patient, it'll be worth the wait, trust me"

So someone said they wanted Neil Lennon in charge, the whole room agreed and Lawell delivered that. What part of that do "supporters" not understand?????

The club needs stability. Not some prima-dona coming in for 6 months, raping the club of £65k a week to score 10-15 goals. We've signed 11 new players FFS. What more do you want?
I want the top players here too but if you were a footballer, what would you do? Not everyone is a Celtic supporter remember.
You can't expect the top players to come to play at Fir Park or Pittodrie against poor, poor opposition in a poorly portrayed footballing nation when they have offers like those at premiership/championship clubs.

If you want to look at why the nations in similar stature to ours have such good players in their leagues, take it up with the government not allowing players who don't meet their criteria for a work permit. Why were Braga so good? They had more Brazillians than Portuguese. Even Utrecht had more technically gifted players - because there's no barriers to these clubs choosing the best young foreign players.

We are stronger after this transfer window. I for one am glad Strachan has gone. Look at Middlesbrough - playing awful football, the fans are doing their heads in as to why he's picking certain players and they're creating zilch in front of goal. Sound familiar?
I'm glad Mowbray has gone. He showed no heart or fight and that was portrayed on the pitch.
I'm glad the likes of Caldwell, McManus, Naylor etc masquerading as footballers in a Celtic strip have been booted.
Lenny is trying his best. He's looked at the problems and chosen his plan of action. Let's trust his judgement FFS instead of being annoyed because the board haven't paid through the nose for some * to come here and pick up a hefty wage each week. I'd rather Stokes or Hooper working his * off for the team, improving as a player, being proud to pull on the hoops than fat, moaning, lazy b*stard McDonald blabbing to the press everytime something didn't go his way, or James Forrest doing the same over McGeady moaning and thinking he's too good for us.

We've won 11 out of 11 in the league. It's not always going to be this great and we'll have sticky patches but that's where we come in. To support the team. Not moan at the board saying they should have brought in a "marquee" * to think he's above the club.

Lenny needs time. He has his team now, give them time. If they don't win the league this season, then i'd cut him some slack if the team has improved. Hopefully with a settled squad over the next few years, we'll storm everyone and it'll give him a chance to improve in Europe too!

    Hail Hail
