well if mcmanus and naylor are there next year we can kiss goodbye to title he played on sat against wba and an error caused a goal.the guy is a complete liability and i dont want to see him at cp we need to go out and buy a dominant centre half

nah time for someone else to have a go

hooiveld and rogne should be the partnership next season if they look good pre season

Why don't we sign a couple of decent CB's instead of bringing Mcmanus back? Something which has needed done for years.

No one said he was best defender only that he could be the captain judging by his reputation and his interviews.

Rogne lOOked excellent in the 1.5 games.

Certainly neither have played enough to merit being named our best defence

Should he be captain upon his return? - Yes.

Should he be sold for not being good enough? - Yes.

Can i ask a question! how many chances do you want to give our players?

he has proved to everyone that watch's celtic that he is not good enough
so my friend you want him in the back line next season going for the title

We have to move forward maybe another manager will get more out of him but can we accept the mediocre calabar of a below average defender.

oh and yes he will come back a better player playing for a pish Boro

I agree with the football points of what you said. Don't rate McManus at all, i think he is just a disaster of a central defender, his reading of the game is poor as time and time again he has been caught out in no man's land as teams attack deep in the final third, he cannot man mark at all and he offers nothing when the ball is on the deck (like Naylor and Caldwell it is a long ball to nowhere). The only nice things i can say about him is he comes across as a genuinely nice guy, sometimes when he doesn't commit a challenge on counter attacking strikers it pays off and every so often he does put in a great block/last ditch tackle. If Kennedy's career wasn't sent into unrecoverable decline by that romanian yob then McManus wouldn't of seen the first team and likely moved on. Again this is just a opinion but he is just the same when he pulls on a Scotland shirt.

"Missing Player Syndrome" at work here; the anomaly that the longer a player is absent through suspension, injury, etc, the higher his reputation and perceived ability will grow. Shaun Maloney is another classic example.

That said, I think he'll come back and maybe form a partnership with Hooiveld in defence. For a little while, at least.

    No way- leadership requires-
    1. Lead by example- don't think he does that.
    2. Ability to motivate others- he ca't do that.
    3. Organistaional skills- aint seen him do that.
    4. Give praise when someone does something good. Maybe seen hi do that.
    5. Give someone is not putting their shist in a boot up the *- Never have a see that.

I'm not a big fan of keepers being captains. How can Artur shout at the forwards? Got to be someone outfield. My preference is a centre midfielder.

Central midfielder would always be first option, unfortunately we don't have any that are leaders.

Even though he's my hero I think Artur is too unprofessional to be Celtic captain. I suppose you could argue that he's a better candidate than Brown or McManus though.

    Ach who knows........... :54:

All great captains had a bit of the nutter in them mate:

    Lenny, Aitken, Viera, Keane etc

He's the most vocal guy in our squad and the biggest character, it could well be the boost he needs as well.
