They want around 3m though, may be a bit too much. If we want a decent defender, then we'll have to fork out some money I suppose.

I think he's proven to be quite good playing some big games for Ireland. I honestly have seen much of him at Preston though. I think it's only a matter of time before he moves out of the championship.

 

Im a big St. Ledger fan, and we payed 3.8 for Marco Fortune so why not a proven International Defender?

 

I would expect if we signed him it would be more along the lines of £2 to £2.5 Million i would be happy to have him here as Caldwell who imo is our best CB right now appears to be on his way out!

 

I just can't see us getting someone who is well known to us, the UK market is too expensive - even for players out of contract.

Too much wages, look at Caldwell.

Think it's Bosnians & Czechs all the way for us now, either that or Russell Anderson.

Great wee player, he has proven against Italy and France he can play against the best. He can read the game well and tackle hes also a good communicator at the back. He is better than what we have imo.

Just because a player plays in the championship doesnt mean they are not a good enough player, there are plenty far better than what we have in our team and its a level where we have to look at due to finances aswell. The days of buying premiership players are well gone, even Hull and Stoke can out spend us!

 

Great player ..i live in preston and the fans hail him as one of the best defenders they have seen there for a long time ..Their board are similair to us in they dont like spending money ..If they see £££££ signs they will sell ..I think a cheeky £2.3M will do it ..Hope Ross Wallace can sell Celtic to him however i dont think we need that much selling

 

I've liked st ledger for quite a while seen him a few times playing in the championship, but after seeing him play against france(cheats), i'm more than convinced he's a celtic class player!! A very clever player, positioning always seems spot on and in the france games in particular he seemed to have a bit of the white Bobo about him, won everything that came near him!! i'd be a happy chappy if we signed him!!

 

Looked no bad against France and had a few dodgy moments not sure if he's worth 3 Million.

 

Caldwell & McManus could be considered proven international defenders mate.


Liked the look of this boy everytime I'v seen him, would be a quality signing. Think his price-tag will put us off though (As usual with the board).

 

I think 3 million for a young international and good prospect would be good value in the current market .

I think he's ok a bit over priced, typical of a championship player. Theres better players in Europe for less.

 

I heard that Strachan tried to persuade him to stay but he wanted to go back to Preston must of heard celtic were sniffing around.

Aye we wont sign Kilgallon because he aint leaving his current club.

As for St Ledger Celtic havent even put a bid in yet.
