Keane can * off, not interested in my team signing mercenaries who want to tick Celtic off in the career checklist

The image of him Cartwheeling after scoring a last minute winner v the huns is one I refuse to believe I will never see.

i would love to sign him. scored a barrel load when he was last here. him, Sandomierski, Kearns and possibly a left back.

if we were to move for him, i think Lennon will wait to let the Bellamy saga run it's course.

  9. I would like to see him back if his wages weren't ridiculous.

he's got two years left on his contract and he's 31 so i wouldn't want to spend anything more than £2m on him.

If it was really about playing regular football then maybe he'd come.

Sadly I think it's about whoever wants to pay astonomical wages :38:

he stated that the pitches up here were * por.....and the standard of football wasnt the best......he's had his wee feel of the hoops on his back and he wont be back. as for him scoring against the rangers.....i dont know how many attempts he had when he was up here previously.....but i cant recall him being a standout in any of the old firm games. there seems to be some kind of aura when it comes to mr keane.....and i'd rather spend our money on someone forging their career rather than someone in the twilight of it.

That's it right there. No point spending too much. But we know Spurs will want more like £4-6 million for him. And I'm sure Keane woud want at least 40-50k p/w.
If we can get him in for about £2mil and on maybe 25-30k p/w then it would be a big yes from me. But I seriously doubt it owuld happen therefore I would like to concentrate on other targets.

Personally I don't think going for the likes of Robbie Keane or Graig Bellamy takes us forward, great players in their day, but I really sense now that they are over the hill.

Let's focus more on the rising stars, let's get some guys in their early twenty's who still have a lot to prove.

That is the way forward, true. But there is one thing we are missing in our team, same as last season. Experience.
Our squad is very young still and I think we need experience from somewhere, whether it's Keane or someone else.

To be fair he never had the quality players to supply him, i think if we got him now for a reasonable fee and wages, i would snap him up, imagine commons kayal ki ledley behind him
And while i think hooper is great, i think him and stokesy together would be great

At £2m-£3m and £25k-£30k per week, absolutely. At silly money - whether fee, wages or both, no thanks!

Also, we would still be calling for a target man, as we currently don't have that option and do need something different up front!

completely agree. if the asking price is anything more on either fee or wage demands, i'd say leave it and look at other targets.

agree with you that our squad desperately lacks experience. think getting Keane in would help Hooper and Stokes' game.
