Would absolutely love this to happen, very clever player who still has plenty in him and would run riot in the spl imo. Not going to get my hopes up though, if he isnt playing regularly by january then you never know, but I doubt it.

So is Broonie or Aiden going to be part of the deal I wonder?

    Quote

Keane is 29 and would cost around £7 million if Celtic bought him - so Spurs would look for that kind of cash in a straight deal or as part of an exchange.

No chance. He'll come when he's 33 or 34 if anything.

he was playing on the left wing against man u at the weekend.he looked lost, for the first time,i believe it may be possible.

i always assumed keane was spurs top striker, but 'arry obviously likes crouch and defoe.as it was his strike pair at pompey and two english strikers.
keane would maybe one of a select few desmond would give the nod to push the boat out abit for.

wigan seem likely to return for skippy,we could well squeeze more than 4 million for him.either mick or caldwell will be sold on,for the return for odea.so there will be money available both in fee and wage.

Well thats what i think. I wouldn't rule it out. But i wouldn't get my hopes up: :-/

Also, i am not too sure of his desire to leave London. A lot of players knock around London and will even play for their teams hated rival, as long as it is London.

    Scott Parker
    Lucas Neill
    Teddy sheringham
    Carlton Cole
    Jermaine Defoe
Michael Carrick ( tho he is a geordie only left for Man u )

    List goes on tbh

there's plenty more players that have moved from clubs in london to outwith, rather than internally. surely!

Yes, but iam just saying, it is quite hard even for Northern clubs in England to sign London Based players.

But don't get me wrong, i would love this

Are we going to do this with the entire RoI squad?

Keane will not leave Spurs for Celtic. Maybe in another dimension Spurs will sell their newly-resigned £12m Captain and idol for £7m and Scott Brown, but certainly not on this one.

This will not happen. Call me a cynic but I assume the sale of season tickets and Europa Cup packages aren't going too well. It happens all the time the we linked with quality and then sign * all. Can you honestly see Peter Lawell completing this kind of signing? Guys TM stated in the previously that when we sold Mo Donati that the £1.5 million wasn't available, so where has the £7million come from?? Skippy's agent is quoted as saying he isn't going anywhere.

As for being Celtic though and through, this time last year Keane was telling everyone how much of a Liverpool fan he is. Usually * the board are putting out big names and we'll end up signing Ismael Miller on loan if anyone. Come mid night 1st February we will all feel cheated as once again the board * * the manager and the support.

    Sorry rant over

In full agreement at the first part. Not going to happen. Not now, not ever. We can no longer compete financially for this type of player. End of story.

But as for us getting cheated, when's everyone going to get off that bandwagon? I've said it before and I'll say it again. Would you prefer a sustainable financial model, re wage structure and signings or would you prefer to be in the same boat as them over there with one signing a year whilst your squad (and * poor youth system) dwindles away every transfer window? Because that's exactly what happens if we start spending O'Neill era money againqq
