    I think Petrov does not get the recognition he surely deserves, he has been outstanding for us over the years and I believe he is more important to us than Mr Bellamy. I also feel he is Celtic thru & thru, Im always pleasantly surprised no other teams have come in for him. Surely we can make up a better song for him than "One Stan Petrov"?????

    have to agree with you 100% i have a mate tha thinks he's a lazy * and incosnsistant it's a row thats been going on for 3 years it's only this season he's started to notice how good of a player stan is. hope gets the player of the year award.

    I think he is the best player at the club. Someone would need a HUGE amount of cash to buy him. I thought the 2.3 million quoted form Everton was an insult but I wouln't sell him for 10 million, I think he is THAT important. much prefer to see him in the middle though. has a habit of scoring important goals against the Huns too.

    totally agree,it seems when he plays through the middle,we look like a team that could give anyone a game.Funniest thing is when petrov and petkov had the trials at celtic i thought petkov would have been the one they signed he looked a good player.I suppose we have to thanks barnes for doing something right

    is petrov badly injured? i didnt get to see the match coz it wasnt on tv so i duno how bad it is,just heard that he was limping.

    I'm unsure how badly injured he is as far as I know he left with his ankle bandaged up so it might just be sprain, I believe however that he is a doubt for Sunday game against Aberdeen.

    Welcome to TalkCeltic, momosylla1888. Stan has been a great player for us. He was the best mistake John Barnes made and I feel he's been played out of position this season. He does brilliantly mostly importantly against Rangers!

    Stan should be the foundation to build a new team round. After taking a wee while to settle his all round contribution to Tic has been immense.

    I get sick when he is move to accommodate others when there is no need to do this. Over the past fivr years some players have done a tremendous job for us but they are now ageing and it's time to move on. Let Stan be the rock upon which we build our next successful team. :yeah:
