If he'd progressed we would not have had a chance to get him. Last seasons been the best he's played since us though. Still young and tbh at the prices quoted I'd have him over James forrest as backup.

 

He was good for us in his first spell. He wasn't good enough in his second spell. After that his career crashed. I don't think he is good enough for us.

Five goals and seven assists at championship level isn't figures that change my opinion.

Literally watched 5 mins of Sunderland vs Boro the other day and in that 5 mins Roberts took the ball for a run on the right and beat 2 or 3 players. Something that none of our wingers have done all season.

We should have made a move for him and why some fans don't like the idea of him coming back is beyond me. It's players to fit a scheme and he's perfect for what we are up against every week.

He did and I'm pretty * sure he would have came back if man city would have allowed it.

He's hardly though gonna say he preferred it at Celtic while doing a club docu series.

I'd take him back over 90% of the wingers we currently have.
Happily strip the entire department back and make Palma and Roberts left and right wingers and then look to find two much much better to take over.
Scrap the rest of the wingers.

Its a real shame we were never able to get him signed to a long term deal after his loans. Would likely have had a really good career if he had of stayed with us. He was so much fun to watch playing when he was with us.
