Did anyone read Pat Dolan's Article in the Irish Star today?
Don't have a link but he basically said that Celtic are going nowhere under Gordon Strachan and Roy Keane is the man to bring the club forward.
I personally think he's talking a load of crap.
However he did say that the club is being run more like a business and not an ambitious football club. He might have a point there.
    Thoughts?

I would take Keane as a manager but wait a few years so he is known as a legend instead of jumping in too early in the deep end.

Roy Keane has proven nothing in management other than he can spend millions of pounds every single transfer window.

If people slate Strachan's signing record have a look at Keane's in relation to the amount's both have to spend, we have obtained better quality for less money across the board.

if Strachan had a quarter of the money Keane has spent at Sunderland, we'd be killing teams in Europe and spanking the SPL hard!

It dissapoints me to hear people like Dolan talking about a team they plaintively know little about. Eejit.

Keane has done nothing in management. I could understand arguments for Davie Moyes but i don't think anybody can really put a decent argument forward for Roy Keane at the moment.

Their position when Keane took over was a false one created by Niall Quinn, they were nowhere near as * as he had them playing.

    He then spent circa 12 million quid on players;

    Kenny Cunningham Birmingham Free 19-07-2006
    Robbie Elliott Newcastle Monthly 05-08-2006
Clive Clarke West Ham Signed 08-08-2006
    Tobias Hysen Djurgaardens £ 1700000 23-08-2006
    Stanislav Varga Celtic Signed 31-08-2006
    Ross Wallace Celtic Signed 31-08-2006
    Dwight Yorke Sydney FC £ 200000 31-08-2006
Liam Miller Man Utd Free 31-08-2006
    Graham Kavanagh Wigan £ 500000 31-08-2006
    David Connolly Wigan £ 1400000 31-08-2006
    Marton Fulop Tottenham £ 500000 02-01-2007
    Carlos Edwards Luton £ 1400000 02-01-2007
    Anthony Stokes Arsenal £ 2000000 08-01-2007
    Stern John Coventry Signed 29-01-2007
    Greg Halford Reading £ 2500000 11-06-2007
    Russell Anderson Aberdeen £ 1000000 27-06-2007

They were big fish in the wee pond that year.

Don't get me wrong he may very well turn out to be a great manager but he's done nothing to prove himself fit for a job as big as Celtic imo.

Keano has all the traits of fergie, cool calm and collective after matches giving press conference's, knows what to say when and i imagine he go right off his nut in the dressing room. He will more and likely end up a Man Utd.
