Partick Thistle New Rivals?

So the oldest Glasgow club Partick Thistle are looking like they have a chance of making it back to the top flight this season. With the zombies gone and not looking like they will be back for another 3 or 4 years, this is the perfect time to shake off the 'Old Firm' tag. If Partick get promoted, I say we treat it as the biggest match of the season, sell out parkhead and really big it up as a major derby. We may be faking it a wee bit at first but after a couple of seasons it could become a proper big game and shows that we don't only care about the huns as some of them believe. Just a wee idea I had

Now that the huns are dead our rivals in Glasgow should be Partick or Queens Park, clubs with history

sevco will never have a rivalry with celtic, they would love it and it would help them keep the myth alive, but sevco are nothing and i dont really want to play them.

 

You can't just plan a rivalry, you know.

 

If you really want to be associated with sevco, a bunch of cheating scumbags then fine...

 

ICT or Hibs are clearly our main rivals for the championship now.

 

Hearts Absolutly hate them I get really fired up for clashes against them also favourite away ground always a great atmosphere

 

Well what I was meaning was like kind of... just plan it.. haha! Just you know, pretend for a while that its a big deal and then maybe it soon will become a big deal. I don't think it's going to happen or particularly want it to happen, it was just an idea!

I know what you were getting at, don't worry.

Rivalries are an integral part of football (anyone who likes to think otherwise or who likes to think they are somehow "above it all" are deluded) but they have to develop organically.

Partick or Queens Park are utterly underwhelming - they haven't done anything significantly provocative to us and I can't imagine them ever doing so. Plus we hardly if ever play them.

I have always despised Hearts and would be utterly delighted if they had to be wound up due to their financial irregularities, so they're our most obvious 'rivals' (although it's not much of a 'rivalry' in a competitive sense - more of an intense antipathy toward their ethos and a significant proportion of their supporters).

 

the Zombies are our rivals, like it or not, dont see a 18000+ post thread about all thinks Partick Thistle, do you?

EDIT: Or that least will be when they make it to SPL

 

What a Naive comment that is, we * hate sevco, all of us do!, there is a real passion about that too!, we want them to fail and laugh hysterically for days when they do. As soon as they are back in the SPL, or as soon as we play them again, you'll see there is still a rivalry.

You arent supposed to like your rivals, and we hate them, with a genuine passion

 

I dont feel anything towards sevco. As far as im concerned they are a brand new club that was formed in 2012. I hated rangers, but they are no longer a club.

 

If the new club went out of business it would be funny, but I'd be nowhere near as interested as I was when oldco went bust, i have nowhere near the same hatred of them i used to, they're irrelevant in my life now.

 

Oh, dont worry, youll hate them eventually....Fans help define a club, alot of their Fans are scummy vile *, who hate us.

To be completely honest, I'm kind of playing devils advocate because I kind of can't wait to play the zombies. Not because I like them, think we need them or any of that nonsense; simply because I can't wait to absolutely demolish and humiliate them.

 

About the whole sevco thing, if they drew us in a cup, what sort of ticket allocation wpuld they get?
