I'm not arsed right now to dig in to the background of all of this, but I'll point out, here is another footballing authority doing "right" by the league when it comes to a club breaking the rules

Amazing how it doesn't happen closer to home

Wee change of scenery for a season then back to normality. Not the end of the world.

Olympique Lyonnais acknowledges the incomprehensible decision rendered by the DNCG tonight and confirms that it will immediately file an appeal.

In recent months, we have worked closely with the DNCG, satisfying all of its requests with cash equity investments exceeding the amounts requested. Thanks to the equity contributions of our shareholders and the sale of Crystal Palace, our cash position has improved significantly, and we have more than sufficient resources for the 2025/26 season.

With so much cash liquidity demonstrated, and sporting success which has earned European competition in two consecutive years, we sincerely do not understand how one administrative decision could relegate such a great French club. Through our appeal, we will establish our substantial cash resources as necessary for Olympique Lyonnais to keep its place in Ligue 1.

That is absolutely ridiculous that the sale of Crystal Palace, another football club, can go towards Lyon’s financial figures.

Could this potentially mean palace’ appeal to be in the Europa league would be successful? Or if Lyon are relegated by the French FA will they still compete in Europe?

What a fall from grace. Can always remember playing against them back in the day with Juninho. What a player he was

I mind the scores just fine.

    Celtic - OL : 2-0
    OL - Celtic : 3-2

The last match was a nail-biter, crucial for the qualification.

Textor will step aside and hand over the CEO position to Michele Kang (owner of OL's women's section and other women's clubs), and Michael Gerlinger (sporting director of OL Groupe and former Bayern man) will take on both the general management and the sporting role.

The new management, supported by the commitment and dedication of our shareholders and lenders, is extremely grateful for all the support received both inside and outside the Club, especially from its supporters, collaborators, players, partners and elected officials.

Today's decision is the first step to restore confidence in Olympique Lyonnais. We can now focus our attention on sporting objectives, fully preparing for next season.

Is any sort of appeal likely? @Lyonniste may be the person to ask.

Could potentially have a knock on effect on our own transfer dealings.

IIRC, Big Bobo giving away that handball in the box (I think it eas from a corner or FK) and the resulting pen killed us.

Naw, it’s official: we’re stayin’ in Ligue 1. For now, only Cherki’s away (tae City), but a few others should be leavin’ as well. Fofana wants tae stay at least anither season. Tagliafico might sign again. Nothin’s certain for Tolisso.
