right lads..dunno if i've got this right or not BUT..

no surrender was a chant by the belfast brigade of the IRA.

as the song goes.. "No surrender! Is the war cry of the Belfast Brigade."

so, at the start of derrys walls, 'The cry was no surrender, surrender or you'll die.' is this not assuming that those chanting it are the ones that will be killed< therefore the huns chanting it is * stupid? :97:

no surrender was the call made but the protestant soilders when king james tried to replace the protestant soilders with catholic ones.

The sing No Surrender, yet Surrender or you'll die- bit conficted.

But the No Surrender thing is a recent thing. No surrender to the IRA meaning they will not give in to they wana do. Common chant through the 80's in English football too. Basically, no surrender is to the Ira, and surrender or you'll die is anti-catholic or Irish or whatever, as in, stand-down and no rebel etc.. * *
