KKS Lech Poznań gaffer, Franz Smuda will maybe soon be Celtic FC's new boss next season - reports Polska The Times.
    Candidate role
According to The Times, Franciszek Smuda is apparently one of the candidates to replace current coach Gordon Strachan, whose contract expires at the end of the season at Parkhead. The newspaper also claims that the agent representing Celtic has already met Smuda in Poland about the possibility of coaching the Scottish champions. "I will not confirm, nor deny these speculations." said Lech boss Smuda when asked to comment whether the rumors of his leave to Celtic are true or false.
    Polish success run
The Pole has already become a wanted coaching target by several Bundesliga clubs, after his recent success run with Lech Poznan. Smuda's good German language skills see him more likely to move to a German club, rather than Celtic, because of his weak English. At the moment, there has been no official announcement from Celtic FC about the possibility of Smuda replacing Strachan.

do you reckon he is just trying to raise his profile or do you reckon Celtic are covering a back up plan if Strachan does not resign?

I can tell you now for a fact that Strachan is on a rolling one year contract which means that he'll always have a year remaining. There is no expiring date on such a contract

Thread Locked because the article is based on bogus information

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...s-Celtic-place-agrees-lucrative-new-deal.html

    He did sign that contract
