New Stand

if celtic sold the name of its stadium or leased it, what are your thoughts on using it to fund the extra 2 tiers on top of the old stand , this has already been passed by planning and would generate more income to be utilised on players salaries, you could even set up a debenture scheme for those fans on the waitng list, an extra 20,000 fans every week would be great inccome,what do you think

Would we get an extra 20,000 fans a week though? I personally don't think so. The only time I could see us getting a full stadium of that size would be Europe and Old Firms. During the League it would be terrible with the amount of spare seats.

There is a 10,000 waiting list for season tickets to start. we could easily use the remainder for concession tickets for the next generation of supporters or even the unemployed. Filling it wouldn't be a problem.

 

If the waiting list for tickets is on a scale that large then why are seats missing at Celtic Park at every league match? Surely if you want a season ticket then you'd want to go to the games you can.

 

i have a mate who is 60 who buys a season ticket every year is a share holder but does not even go to the games he does not even watch them on the telly

 

I don't believe there's 10,000 on any waiting list for season books. Anyone joining the huddle club is offered a season book almost immediately. They were even offering half season books around Christmas, this tells you that they struggle to even sell the 50,000 they claim. More spin from the powers that be.

I'd say no, simply because of the atmosphere we already have. I'd rather have 60,000 moaning * rather than 80,000.

 

There are 53,000 full season book holders. Many of the other 7,000 seats are special season book holders who are part of that waiting list. Many people don't even try to get a season book because the waiting list for a full one is so long. If full season books were freely available the majority would be taken imo

i say go for it it would make celtic park the biggest club ground in terms of capacity in britain and it would be great to sit up there in the gods

definately id be all for it i know if i didnt live in ireland and cant get all the time that i wud defo have a season book if i lived in scotland

 

This has been mentioned b4 and doing the main stand will benefit celtic greatly money wise and their image. But i hink the only concern is if they tear it down at the end of a season and it is not finished by the start of the next they will have problems finding the extra seats 4 season ticket holders in main stand. But im 4 it it would b execllent at Old Firm games and European games

 

There's always the argument that it will make the playing surface a lot worse. Not an expert on the issue myself, but I think we should do it.
