  1. Not really though.

Griffiths last season at Hibs he played 36 League games with 22 goals and 8 assists and 6 Cup games with 5 goals and 2 assists.

42 Games 27 Goals 10 Assists which is more than Ciftci last season.

I believe he will. Guy has everything you look for in a lone striker for Europe these days.

  3. Id leave the * sweating till the last day of the window and offer £800k as we dont really need him. If they dont accept it then sign a pre-contract with him in January and offer them £200k to sign him then.

Different formations, different types of teams. Griffiths was extremely creative when he was next to Stokes.

In our formation he's not suited to setting up others.

Stephen Thompson will buckle soon, he is sweating like a pig from the pressure he is under from the Mighty Celts :smiley-laughing002:

  6. Ciftci might not be either, might not be smart or good enough to cope with being surrounded by a lot more players than he's used to.

:50: £1.5million their having a laugh the stupid *, thats more than Stokes or Griffiths cost who ripped SPL teams apart much more than him and at younger ages.

seems Ciftci is set on Celtic which means @dundeeunitedfc must decide take a million or lose him for buttons or nothing.

1m and loan them a player.

  11. Gee them fuckall :50:

Lawwell should decrease the latest offer to £800k, if they knock it back, then wait a week and offer them £800k again and keep doing it until the accept. They would definitely accept that on the last day of the window and we dont really need him. Just means every week they refuse to sell they need to pay Ciftci's wages so are losing money.

We shouldnt be pandering and caving in to these wee diddy teams, we should be backing them into a corner using our power.

Gee them * all and sign Hooper. Sign Ciftci on a pre-contract in January.

    Better idea.

  16. Is he really going to play in the qualifiers anyway though? probably not, cant imagine him starting any of the games. I think of him being signed as more of a squad player to add competition, might not even be the main striker signing.

Id leave it till the last day of the window and offer them less than they want take it or leave it.

No danger should we be paying £1.5million for a guy who might never become first choice when we dont need to.

this is pretty much how mid table EPL teams talk about us when they are linked with our players, * flows downstream I suppose... Anyway Dundee United have made around £8 million in player sales in the last year or so, as I understand it their debt is very manageble now so they are not desperate to sell, anything under a million and they might jusst take their chances and keep him, to keep the supporters on their side

I can't get excited about this signing, gut feeling is he will flop, really hope im wrong though

  18. Doubt it, £800k on the last day, they will see as good money for a guy they'd get at most £250k for in January. Say he's on £2k a week + bonuses, it might cost them about £70k to pay him from now until January, so keeping him for 20 games could cost them £620k, basically costing them £30k per match, they will definitely cave in at the end of the window.
