Sorry if this is a ridiculous thread but after watching the Ronny videos out celebrating with his family it just got me thinking!

What bar was it that Ronny was in?
Is it a Tim bar or just a bar in town? Lucky he picked a good bar anyway and his family didn't get any hassle off bitter huns.

And in general ye guys out and about it Glasgow, who have ye met out?
Who was sound and who was a *?

I met Johnny Hartson in a bar in Manchester after Roy Keane testimonial a great guy, talked for 10 mins with me and my 2 mates and I asked did he want a bottle but he insisted on getting us 3 one instead, shook hands and said all the best.
I met Lenny in a Cork bar again a class act joining in the sing song all evening and no * was allowed video him and get him in trouble either.

Would love to hear a few of yer stories out and about!

Met quite a few players in pubs - don't know if that says a lot about me never being out of pubs! Mostly just leave to their pint but on a few occassions get talking to them.

Was staying in Blythswood Square hotel a few years ago and was having a late night drink with my girlfriend in the bar. Lennon, Mjallby, Thomson were there with Tommy Johnson celebrating his birthday. They bought me a few drinks after finding out it was my birthday as well. Used to see Lennon regularly in Tennents on Byres Rd.

Was watching a Barcelona game with my mates, got talking to an older guy who ditched his family's meal to watch it with us. Turned out to be John Robertson. Was telling us all about tactics, how him and O'Neill set out to beat them etc. Was amazing to watch a game and get commentry from him. He'd notice the slightest things.

Growing up, I drank in Angels in Uddingston (Harry Hood's pub). Lennon, McManus etc all popped in regulary. But Jinky drank in there as well. Was always a pleasure to talk to him.

ps Deila was at a pub in Erskine. Stays down there apparently.

Met a few players at airports once, met Roy Keane and MON at Glasgow airport after games before, used to see Brian Quinn fairly regularly there as well. Also met a few players after the Petrov tribute game, Berbatov, Agbonlahor and Pires.

I was out with James Forrest and a few others at the end of last year there, when he was out injured. We ended up drinking a bottle of my dad's whisky because there was nothing else in the house - no mixers, nothing. :smiley-laughing002:

I saw Thomas Rogne out in Edinburgh but I didn't get speaking to him.

Stokesy is never out Kellys in Cleland. Never gets any peace though. Think his old mans band plays there.

Used to see McGeady and few others in Bamboo all the time. Heard a story about Boruc once in Kushion surrounded by birds and some * asked for his autographs and he replied "heyyy I'm with women" probably bullshit though haha

I have seen Lenny and mjallby in Balloch but my only experience of meeting players out drinking was the worst you could imagine!

Took the Mrs out for her birthday in Glasgow the night the oldco won their last ever league title and once we finished dinner we were going to find somewhere for a drink when all their fans started getting off buses steaming. Heard one of them tell a woman in a green top he was going to slash her and basically threatening anyone they came across and singing their songs of hate. It's fair to say I was raging and worried for the safety of the Mrs so we thought * it we will go somewhere a little more up market where these * won't be so we headed to November bar at the top of princes square.
I got to the bar to order some drinks when a wee * in front of me starts singing their songs and I'm looking at the bouncer next to him doing nothing I was shocked until he turned round and it was that wee * novo. I went back to get the Mrs to leave and realised the whole squad was there and they all started singing. It's fair to at my Mrs had a * birthday cause I was raging all night and I had to take her out another night to make up for it. How different it would have been if we had won the league that year and the entire Celtic squad was there singing songs could have been the best birthday ever!

This night also summed up the difference between us and them for me, the whole atmosphere in Glasgow that night was bad, you could hear sirens and threats of violence and anger everywhere as opposed to a night after Celtic win the league where you hear joy and laughter.

Met McGeady a few times. The best one was when we beat the Huns in 2011 to go top of the league when Ledley scored. My mate runs mini bar on bath street and he is close mates with Aiden. He gave me his Republic of Ireland shirt which is now framed and sits nicely on my wall in the hall way.

been for a few jars with jimmy johnstone years ago when he was working for lafferty's the builders.
was down in byres rd while all the renovations were going on in Glasgow (mid 80s)
we used to meet him in the pub at finishing time on a Friday, never really talked to him though, just sat in his company, staring at him in awe while he told us stories of all the celtic games, and all the company would never let him put his hand in his pocket. tiny wee guy but to us he was 6ft tall and a * like stature.
    sadly missed.

I've been lucky enough to meet a lot of the players when I was in my teens thanks to our former kit man. Tends to be a bit different when you meet them out, obviously.

Bumped into Stephen Crainey when he was playing for Blackpool. Offered to buy him a drink, but he insisted he get me one instead when I'd said I was a Celtic fan. He probably just wanted me to * off and leave him alone :56:
