Did anybody else feel that both McGinn and McCourt posed so much more direct threat than McGeady(From the wing) and Maloney did tonight?.

Personally i'm getting fed up with McGeadys ''flattering to deceive''. McGeady could turn every team inside out every game but he'll do * all with it. If you give McCourt the chance to turn someone inside out the he will and get a decent shot or cross out of it.

Also I feel that there was * all rong with Mowbrays tactics tonight. I felt that the players let him down yet again. Also fed up with the glory hunting Celtic fans having there say :50: Giving a manager 4/5 months too build a team that plays his way is impossible.

    We'll whats a wingers job?

To beat a man and cross it. There is noone in the box to win a header, neither Maloney or McGeady are wingers they keep cutting back and cant cross. Waste of time playing that system if there is noone in box to capitalise.

I'd like to see McCourt getting a run in the starting 11, although I'm not sure who I'd drop for him. He'd be great in a 5 man midfield.

I would play McCourt now before Maloney ,ill be honest though ,ive never been a fan of Maloneys even from the first time he was at Celtic ,but when McCourt arrives on the park you know something will happen and for the time he was on tonight he did have a go and was more effective than Maloney .

McGinn time will come ,i still want to see McGeady been used as a floater just of the midfield being more direct and running at defenders ,i think you will see a better player if he got that role ,i do like McGinn and i believe we will see more of him but while McGeady is playing out there i dont think McGinn will be first pick.

Once McCourt notices that it's a team game i'll be happy for him to be given a chance.

I personally think Maloney is rubbish and always have done. He will give you 1 piece of skill every 5 games and then resort back to hitting corners off the first man and running the ball out of play every time.

McCourt could be doing with a run of games, he is able to beat full backs with ease at any level by the looks of things.

If he had played in the hole behind McDonald tonight Hamburg would not have known what had hit them. I think he would flourish in that position behind the strikers with the freedom of not defending because he's one lazy * when the opponents have the ball :)) .

is aiden not a trained striker?. i feel that once we get (what we have now with paddy) a good expert on the wing in replacement, aiden can only gain from playing behind the strikers, being free to go at them from the centre, change the wings...and maybe finally get himself a good finishing touch....with the freedom he would have there. otherwise i´m hoping ZZ is goin to fill the gap of a playmaker we OBVIOUSLY have....or the korean lad in january. as for mcginn, i think he is a good replacement for shaun, but just not yet a squad player, paddy´s way closer ot it than mcginn is.

As it stands, I think any winger in our team will run into problems simply due to the stand out issue in central midfield. I'm 100% confident that the removal of Brown would lead to better team cohesion and in turn offensive play.

That said, i'd trust either McGinn or McCourt coming in on the wings, but dont feel this area of the team is where the major problem lies.

Both Agree and Disagree with this. I agree as McGeady and Maloney have been withoutdoubt two of our best players this season. But then again the amount of changes they fail to take or create is a major problem at this moment.

IMO Maloney is *. I have always said this, he gets into some great positions and BANG.. Goes no were.

Mc Geady on the other hand to me is still our best player i mean, OK he doesnt always produce but every time he gets the ball there 2/3 players around him and no-one looking for it.

Mc Ginn is a great we player i think, same as McCourt only if he knew how to pass.

On sunday i would play McGinn and McCourt both against Hamilton. to see how the both of them play starting together

theres always players looking for the ball he just doesnt want to pass it.

as for what you said about maloney atleast hes getting into positions. mcgeady gets the ball, has 3 players around him, skins one has the option to pass but decides to try to skin the others and ends up losing it. whereas maloney has the sense to pass the ball most of the time.

id personally start mccourt and maloney against hamilton. infact i might be inclined to play maloney upfront with sammy and play mcgeady and mccourt

I could NOT agree more. I understand why so many Celtic fans love McGeady. He's got some talent, he came through our ranks, he has the whole Scottish/Irish thing going on, he ticks a lot of boxes basically. etc etc But when are folk going to realise that he DOES NOT live up to the hype?

The boy's final pass and crossing are abysmal. He flatters to deceive so often. Paddy McCourt threatened Hamburg's goal in one minute more than Aiden did in the whole 90. I'm sick of hearing about how teams 'triple team' McGeady. Nobody needs to triple team him because he doesn't produce much! He can beat a couple of men but then he lets himself down. Lots of people say how this bhoy is going to be world class someday. HE'S NEVER GOING TO BE WORLD CLASS!!!

If somebody offered me £6million pound for McGeady I'd savage their arm off. He's not TOP class and that's the truth.

The problem with paddy is that it is difficult to find a textbook position for him in a side.Hes the kind of player you need to build around and not slot him in. The question remains whether a manager would take that risk, and yes of course it is a risk.if it didnt work out the manager would look pretty stupid.Having said that i truly believe hes good enough, especially in the spl.that is where * be at his best, and no one can deny hes an absolute joy to watch on the ball.once again tonight ghosting past the german full back as if he wasnt there.and that was as close as we got.hed been on less than 5 minutes.

I don't see the sense in criticizing McCourt at this stage. He doesn't boot the ball 20 yards down and hope he can chase it, he stands right up to defenders, takes them on, and more often than not beats them. Most of all, he relishes it; he's the calmest guy on the pitch with the ball at his feet. You watch most of the guys wearing the Hoops these days, and they haven't the faintest idea what to do with the ball when they get it. We should be fecking erecting Paddy McCourt monuments, considering the novelty he is.. a combination of skill, drive, and imagination at Parkhead these days.

Don't see him as selfish at all, our attack is more promising with the ball at his feet.. don't we want him on the ball more? He's hardly on to make crunching tackles. These "pass" jibes are hardly directed at his ability to pass. He's played a few very incisive balls in his short tenure, and the ease with which he plays a ball across field to a winger's feet would give any follower of this team pause.

I'm not saying the man can walk on water, but of all the things to criticize these days I'd say he's last on the list. He absolutely deserves a good run in the starting 11. What the * do we have to lose??

Maloney andMcGeady still offer more in a central role. Fortunes movement early in the season allowed them to drift in and get the goals

malone wont get a better chance than he had tonight 6 yards out
and a few other chances recently.
he was hiding for long spells tonight dont see paddy doing this.
if aiden didnt have a powder puff shot he would be already playing
in top league earning big money not being talked about dropping
    for McGinn

McGeady doesn't know when to pass it. He holds on, until he's surrounded, the attack breaks down and then it generally goes back up the wing. McGinn looks to be a natural, hit the byline and cross, winger. Drop Maloney, move McGeady across to the left and get McGinn a start. I like McCourt, but see him as a luxury, impact player. He seems to be out of puff within 15 mins of going on. Also, the strikers should be gettting into the box and looking for crosses, instead of always coming short and the ball drifting over their heads.
