Probably one of the most ridiculous comments I have ever seen on here. What a terrifically knee-*, idiotic pile of *.

McGeady was poor tonight, so poor. That does not justify nor explain him away as a 'waste of space'. He has been absolutely brilliant for Celtic this season, the stand out performer and far and away our most dangerours attacking weapon. He is still developing into the finished article (with his final ball and especially his shooting needing more work, granted) but to lash out after one bad performance and suggest selling your most valuable asset for £2 million is bordering on insane.

It is a stupid reaction, with no rational foundation and no appreciation of the realities of football, or any sport, for that matter. Have a word with yourself and come back when you've thought it through.

McGeady has been the top man this season so far, hes had what 3 or 4 bad games well that means time the rest of the players stepped up and took some responsability for whats going on on the park!!

 

hes pish, ive said it for years, hes the biggest over rated player in the league. Cant shoot, cant cross, lazy etc etc, get him and the donkey of a manager out

Everytime Celtic get beat or drop points these threads come up about getting £10Million or more for McGeady, why can't fans just be happy to keep him? So he had a duff night, so * what.. He is one person in our team that can turn a game right around for us, & some fans can't wait to show him the door, Seriously! He is home grown talent that Celtic have brought threw themselves, probably one of if not thee best talent we have brought threw in the last decade, there is teams that would love a creative player like Aiden & yet some people aren't happy with that, tis crazyness.. It won't be until Aiden leaves that fans will see what he brought to Celtic because there will be a big hole in our team, these type of players aren't easy to find, or if you do find them aren't easy to attract for the money we would be willing to offer.

Aiden yes I will agree maybe has to work on his finishing, but he has scored some crackers this season, but his movement, pace & trickery is by far ahead of anybody elses in our team.. But spose everyone is intitled to there opinion I'm just getting sick of these threads every week to be fair, we should be happy to have a player like McGeady thats all I can say..

 

great player, but over rated a bit IMO...he has his goods and bads just like every other player so i think its a bit unfair to be that harsh

 

McGeady was the worst player on the pitch tonight. The guy is so vastly over-rated, his end product is shocking for a player supposed to be in the £10 million bracket. But in the eyes of some of our supporters he can do no wrong. Looking forward to Maloney's return.

Anything over £7 million and I'd let him go.

I do think end ball could improve but he is in my thoughts our best player. . But hey, i cant find one else who's half decent.

 

Hes never a 10 million pound player!
His crossing is average and his shooting is even worse than his crossing...
He is reasonably quick with good feet and can go past players...
all in all hes a 3rd rate European footballer playing with a 4Th rate European team!
He could probably play at a higher level and evolve as a player in a tougher league in my opinion hes as good as he is ever gonna be in Scotland, 7 million and id sell him...

 

In all fairness he's a decent enough player but whether anyone want's to admit it or not he has clealry hit his peak which is sadly not saying much.His final ball is very poor 8 out of 10 times, crossing is again less than to be desired.If someone came in with a reasonable bid anywhere above 4mil we should sell. For all the dribbling and attacking football he does his skill and overall ability is outweighed by his lack of final ball, poor awareness, lack of communication with team mates, greed when he's on the ball, poor shooting.

Sorry to say but he's nowhere near as good as his hype suggests. Don't get me wrong i can understand why some people like him for his attacking style of football but i think he has hit his peak.He's not showing any signs of improving his game which is just no good.

 

i agree mcgeady was absolutely * woeful tonight but i cant believe how fickle some fans are; when he's playing well they say "hes * brilliant, good enough for the EPL" but when he has a bad game like tonight its the usual knee * hysterics which have been the norm ever since Strachan became manager and has continued under Mowbray

there are areas where he needs to improve though and he needs to stop trying to take the whole opposition team on by himself, you cant run through 5 men you're not a * ghost!!

 

Is McGeady overrated?

This is not a knee-* because of his * performance in the last few games. I checked out his season stats. Here they are, 5 Goals, 7 Assists, 52 Shots, 28 Shots on Goal. This season has, some are saying been his best season. I myself think he is overrated, vastly. I know its only nearly Feb but is 5 goals and 7 assists really that impressive from are "best" player? Its not as if he is just a kid anymore trying to break through to the first team. His shooting is some of the worst I've seen. His crossing can be ok but he doesn't do it enough. This probably won't make me popular but if anything over 5 million came in for him i would have him out the door. For anyone who wants to throw the "Well he's are best creative force" line at me. What exactly does he create? Not alot of goals or assists. Maybe he creates space? But hey he does one * of a step over.

 

Yes he is overated. Alot of defenders know what he is going to do now and also now they just double up on him. His shooting and crossing arent the best either, yes theres been a few good goals from him from shots, but 9 times out of 10 his shots are power puff efforts.

 

Very overrated. Beating players is very entertaining and gets the fans off their feet but the most important thing being a winger is end product - the fact is McGeady's is poor.

His shooting is totally abysmal.


When he gets the chance to score I expect him to miss it (Like his chance tonight).
