Right fellas no doubt we've all heard the news regards the Dundee Q'n'A!
Nae Bellers Nae Keano and by the sounds of it the deals for Campbell and Bullard are deid an' aw, all to do with wages!!

Im feeling a little dis-satisfied here to be honest i feel we were led to believe that we would be signing a striker of repute, and whilst i have no doubt that Hooper will be successful he aint exactly what i had in mind you know? And the signing of Murphy leaves me perplexed although i hope he also goes on to be a major success for us!

Now i dont want to come across as a greeting faced * here im delighted by the other business we've managed to do so far,Ledley WILL be a major star for us,Cha looks a steal,Juarez was very impressive in the WC,Mulgrew is a good squad addition even though he has taken a fair amount of stick already (sort it out guys and give him a chance hes a fan as well as a player lay off!) obviously the imminent arrivals of Hooperman possibly James and Kayal would bolster the squad (with James in particular being another coup if he comes!) but i hope that when Milner goes to city the Villa then offer the big bucks for Aiden who as much as i like him (10million yer having a laugh) could be compensated by other players namely Ledders i would then like to see any and all monies brought in lavished on a transfer/wages package for a TRUE Celtic number7 we need a Talismanic figure a player that all the fans love with no arguments Henke style basically i want Keano here now before the season starts proper please please please Lawell/Lenny do it somehow just do it!!:50:

but i'd have Bellers as a fall back:52:

Nothing to say we won't have an impact signing. Thereare mire out there than keane and Bellamy. The smart money was always against the joining.

Spot on, my views are so similar.

Am not getting hung up though, i would now rather we didn't chase after sol and jimmy because we need to focus our energy elsewhere. Presume Kayal means nee bullard am ok with that

i dont see us being a big force in europe for a while tbh so i dont think a marquee signings needed, * doing a huns and the club being run into the ground.

the likes of hooper/stokes who we've been linked with can score for fun at spl level and perhaps even in europe ala skippy. we aren't in a position to make signings like this.

We are going back to the beginning- we must focus our energy domestically firstly.

If they don't want to join then there is * all we can do about it is there.

I would have Kayal over Bullard anyday as Bullard is near the end of his career and is injury prone looks like hes chasing money anyway, Kayal is younger fitter, cheaper and looks like he genuinly wants to play for us no matter what he gets paid.

I am not bothered one way or the other about a marquee signing or talismanic player. I just want a team that can go out there and do the business, and if we get entertained along the way, so much the better. We have had two lean years in a row with just one Cup for all our efforts. Mowbray's expansive football at the expense of a solid defence was an unmitigated disaster. And hearing Peter Lawwell saying we actually bid £4M for Stephen Fletcher is gobsmacking. What the eff were Hibs playing at ? :54:

So to paraphrase, get a winning team back on the park that can claw the SPL back and get us into the Group Stages of the CL again. We don't need to splash out millions of pounds on transfer fees and wages on some fancy sand dancer who might turn out to be a flop.

If we focus domestically, it will lead to better European prospects. Especially if the league improves in ranking.

What we need is consistency and stability. There's been so much change in the club over the past 3 years. We need to tighten it up after this window (providing it works) and get a good efficient unit, management and club going.

you all have fair point guys!!

i know what your saying Rosy it obviously the logical choice to try for the 2 big hitters we have had previously! and they never ruled out a big signing but declan even though we're maybe not where we were 4-5 years ago surely we must maintain the ambition to be better!?

i have no want to see us in the * that the huns are in but by Lennys admission we've hardly spent a bean fee wise i just hoped against hope we would get a big name someone to get the fans salivating and buzzing again and Keane/Bellamy were the easy answers!!

hopefully there are irons in the fire Lawell and Lennon are never really gonna shout abput a big name in case it dosent come off and they look like fools so im still hopeful plus theres a few weeks of the window left yet so we'll wait and see fingers crossed!!

just read that Guti has officially been released by Madrid!! get him Pete:56:

We don't NEED a marquee signing, we would like one. Why spend 10m and 65k wages on a player when we can build our whole team on it? One player does not change a team. If we sign a big name then yes its good, if we dont I couldn't really care.

To be fair if we manage to keep Aiden on top of what we have right now i think we could be a force definetly at Celtic Park at least.

Its a wages issue that means they would be interested just that Celtic dont seem to think they can stretch to cover thier wages i can understand that tho'!!!

I think lenny and Lawwel have to say they aint going to sign those players. They havent had a deal made for McGeady to start with and this is where the money would be generated. I think they want to focus on the players they can realistically sign right now and then when the bank balance is topped up to £10m then he can come out and say we will try and sign Bellers or Keane. They wouldnt want to give us hope incase McGeady stays at the club and fans are all wondering why we havent signed this marqee forward.

But for players like bullard and campbell I am not bothered about signing as their is no sell on value and if they did rubbish they have cost us a lot of money for nothing!

I like the players lenny is signing and I really do think this team could be very strong with the players mentioned who have signed and are signing

    Hope that makes sense

well hes a bigger name around the world than robbie keane or craig bellamy, and in his prime he was better than both, he'd definately be marquee,:50:

we dont need another midfielder tho
