    Without a doubt.

Lenny has zero managerial experience - zero. Shouldn't be anywhere near the running for permanent Celtic manager.

As for Hughes - well, my views on his gawdawful Route One * are probably quite clear from my previous post. :icon_mrgreen:

Personally I'd like to see Bilic, but if Lambert is the third option then fine.

I'm not getting drawn into a debate on the pro's and cons of Gordon Strachan and nowhere did i say that it wasn't a valid point...

I was only saying the Gordon Strachan debate has been going on for far too long...

I have no idea why people want Lambert as manager apart from him being an ex-Celt.

He was awful at Livingston. Fair play his record down south is good but Mowbray's record in the CCC * all over that.

lambert is a guy who has had 4 clubs in five years and never managed above leauge 1 if he hadn't played for celtic would everybody still want him in ?? or would they rather have a proven premiership manager :31: ??

Uh huh. And I'm saying forget who the manager was, but * took in 3 titles out of 4 and 2 last 16 of the CL with so called "bad" football. Yet this was never accepted by fans presumably because the football wasn't deemed good enough.

The Mark Hughes brand is not exactly the beautiful game, so I am merely underlining the point that we're going to be back to square one or even 2 steps back with Hughes.

WAIT ?? you'd be prepaired to turn down Hughes, Before he got the City job he was one of the favourites for the united job.
Route one football my *, yes it was direct, agreeded its not arsenal but Mowbray promised flowing attacking.
Hughes was not route one, it was direct fast paced and to the point. Built on the foundations of a firm back four. Perfect System.
You try and find a Epl team fighting for religation that dosen't shut up shop. It was quite similar to O'Niel and Villa now
He can spot potential and a Bargain a mile off. Look at his blackburn signings they're Incredible. If he can do that here.

Look give Lennon a chance to prove himself but theres not a lot he can do if a manager like Hughes is interested.
Take him in a Heartbeat, im still not sure he'd take the job though. He'd want a bit of a budget but just imagen what he could do with it.
He ticks all the boxes people have asked for:
    Track Record
    Non Celtic Link
    Experience at a high level.
Winning football - Isn't that all you can ask for???

in * last season the football wasn't good enough hence the league was lost and he left the club simple....

if by square you mean winning titles again and last 16 of champions league then bring it on

Hey I'd love that too! I just don't think that Hughes brand of football is as appealing as.. past managers has been. I also don't think it's going to be winning football (he isn't an experienced title-chaser) but I appreciate he is the best manager linked to us so far. It's just when results inevitably go bad at some point (same with any manager) if the football is turgid he won't last a second.

it easy if neil lennon had played for another team and the celtic job came up would we be wanting him to be the manager. No same goes for lambert. billic has ruled himself out. So it has to be Hughes and i for one would be delighted. The manager has to be feared look at fergie, Oneil and even W smith there players go out and give everything because they know they arent bigger than the manager. The manager is the most important part of the team look at Rangers * team but the manager has won them two league titles with out buying a player. So my point is how can we risk having a manager the has not prove himself in management. We as a club can not take a risk with this desicion or we could end up being years behind the manky mob.

Hughes is a pragmatist. Frankly, pragmatism makes a better manager.

Apart from Dalglish, have we EVER been managed by someone who won a title before coming to Celtic?

if the board have any ambition they should be on the phone to mark hughes asking if he's seriously intrested in the job and telling him what hus budget will be etc let him go and look at players from now untill the end of the season and come back with a wishlist of players

  20. As much as I like Lennon, there's no way he's ready to take on the job full time - look at TM, previous experience in SPL, EPL & CCC yet he was totally out of his depth when it came to managing us??? We need a manager who can handle the demands of the club - Hughes has cut the mustard at international managment level & while his brand of football may not be Barcalona-esque, I'd sooner have him take over & let Lenny cut his teeth elsewhere & prove himself first. We need a proven manager, simple as that. :50:
