Marc Crosas...... New contract?

Just a short opinion. Marc Crosas is undoubtedly a top player and has been playing really well.

The lad is out of contract soon and we should really be keeping a player of his stature.

 

I would offer him a new deal. I hope that's not why he has upped his game a bit.

 

Mowbray is building for the future and with Crosas playing the way he has he should be included and rewarded with a contract ,he will only get better as he gets older.

 

i would give him another year or 2 deal just now because of the potential he is showing, but thats all its is just now, potential. he still has along long way to go before he is considered a top player. he dissappears almost every game for at least 20 mins and he is yet to dominate a game the way a player with the ability he has, shouldbe doing. he is not anywhere near the finished article yet

 

Give him a contract asap. He can only get better and it's clear he's a good player.

he signed a four year contract when we got him, this is only his second year, theres no rush imo

 

Him and N'Guemo should be snapped up now.

We're not going to get better unless we spend big and even then they'd both be good backup if we did.

I would like us to have a box to box midfielder that is gonna chip in with between 10-15 goals. We dont have anyone that can come close just now, although i recon ki might come close.

With mcgeady, nguemmo ki mcginn stanic (if we get him) i dont see where crossas, brown or maloney fits in. Good 3 players to have on bench though, and crossas is a good player to have in europe as he holds the ball well.

 

Was it not a 2 year contract with barca having the option to get back?

Still don't see what the big deal is with Crosas, yeah he's ok and he can pick out a pass every now and then but he always seems to go to sleep for long periods of the game.

 

hes a decent we player but he will probably want at least 20 k a week and a dont hink hes worth that tbh

 

he is not due a renewal hes halfway through his current deal but when the time comes hes a certainty for a new contract

 

He looks on the cusp of really dominating the CM but is not quite there yet. I suppose he has only been a first pick for a couple of months though and had not had a huge amount of game time over the last season and a half. He does need to show he can dominate and direct a game a bit more forcibly Lambo style though. He also has a good shot that I would like to see more.

 

Just because he gets rid of it with one touch rather than running around in circles like a buffoon a la Brown doesn't mean he goes to sleep. He and N'Guemo have specific roles and they play them very, very well. The "empty bucket" formation is getting a lot more common on the continent and, when used properly, it's a great formation. I'm happy Mowbray is looking outside the traditional 4-4-2 with two box to box midfielders.
