I'm new to the forum and cannot believe how highly Magic is rated within it. He has a poor touch and his hold up play suffers accordingly, he strikes me as lazy, not working the channels enough as i'm sure Mark Wilson and Paul Telfer will testify to, causing them to dally on the ball or pass back inside more often than not. I realise Big John doesn't help but he offers an alternative target at least. Maybe i've been spoiled over the years but he is a million miles from a Larsson, Sutton, Bellamy etc. In fact i'd much rather have Henri Camara. I believe Kenny Miller will make that position his own next season. Magic is a "decent" finisher who makes good runs for through balls on goal, and yes that is different to offering yourself as an outball.

sorry im not having that for a minute i think the bhoy has trememndous work rate and desire and is in and out of the channels all the time what player have you been watching??:97: i know its a forum of opinions but i disagree totally i think he could be a cracking player for us

We play with narrow midfielders so it's vital at least one of our strikers work the channels, i just don't think he offers enough, not to mention the fact it bounces of him half the time when he does show for it. Over-rated in my opinion. Our Kris Boyd dare i say, dount he'll be there long term.

Oh and this is not a dig mate but i think you notice it more when you are at the game. Next game watch Telfer and Wilson look for someone to hit and you'll see my point

Telfer..... maybe its his delivary of wild air bombardments which makes for all the wasted space and runs magic creates. I must say he does spend a lot of time offside which is a worrie

Better finisher than Henrik? Hartson? Bellamy? Cadete? V.Hooijdonk? C'mon mate, not in their league. Ithink you need to have more to your game than finishing to succeed at a club our size anyway - Brattbakk, Burchill etc know what i mean?

Magic is a world class finisher. Thats what strikers are supposed to do. I think he would play really well with Maloney up front.

He has to hold it up when we have a central midfield with a pace of 0mph

Looks how long Magic was injured. Now look how many goals he's scored.

Since he came back from injury he has scores a lot of goals in a short space of time but his form in the last 3 games have not been the best but he got a goal tonight with a reasonable game but he is not a consistant as other celtic players so that is why this thread was started he will be good for celtic but he is nearly past his best but if he doesnt get injured next season who knows he might get 20 odd goals

Anyone that doubts Magic is a quality striker should stick to other sports.
What more does he have to do to prove himself to certain fans?
If he stays injury free next season he'll be the club's top scorer and I'll bet he gets a few assissts as well.
