Didn't Stephen Robinson say recently that St Mirren were working towards keeping him there for another year?

He isn't always going to be a standout playing for a team like St Mirren. He'll still have poor games. He seems to have made a generally positive impression over the course of his time there though.

Don't feel he's ready to come back just yet though. Another year out on loan would do him the world of good.

Doesn't seem like that year is going to be at St Mirren though going by recent squad selections.

Another year he’d be 24, if we think he can’t come in at pre-season and show enough to challenge for a place, which I don’t think he can despite thinking he’s been good for St Mirren - if he’s not in the picture still after a few weeks in summer, a loan to English Championship instead. I think he could show enough for us to get a decent enough fee for him down there. A season at St Mirren, even if he does amazing, we still would only be able to let him go at a loss

This is where Odeas role becomes important. Spfl loans should be for players that we want to become 1st team players and want to acclimatise to the league. Perfect example is Ajer or to lesser extent Scales.
Guys we have decided wont cut it need to be loaned to markets where we can at very least recoup our fee or even make a small profit on.
Too often in this position we have sent guys like Kwon back to the league or club the came from and the end up bouncing about their for a season or 2 before they get to final year and we terminate their contract and they end up back were they started, generally a poorer player but far better off financially. While we just chalk up another loss for the recruitment team.

You will have seen a lot more of him than me mate, and not taking away what he did when he got appearances but realistically he is 23, so another season out on loan he is 24 the time he comes back to us.

I know he was highly rated in Korea before he came to us and all their top teams wanted to sign him but he wanted too be abroad, hence why he was back playing in K2 after his military team stint in the top league. For me if one of those teams still wanted him I would look for our money back and let him go.

If we can sell him in the summer, for any sort of fee, then I'd take it. Take the hit and get rid. If we have to loan him out again, do it somewhere we know he will thrive and that puts him in the shop window.

A few posters have already said it, but St Mirren is the ideal team to loan guys out to, especially players coming in from a different country.

It means they get a significant amount of game time, get used to our league, play against the huns, can't play against us.

Total win win either way. St Mirren would be happy to take as many fringe players as we could give them.

Aye, this loan was going to make or break his Celtic career.

He's not playing enough there to warrant a long term future here, which is what this loan deal was exactly for.

    100%.

All teams in our league should be used to guarantee game time for those who have been bought for the future or those youngsters who desperately need game time to develop.

Oh would be perfect at Aberdeen to replace Miovski. Kelly should be getting game time at Motherwell or Dundee. As should Frame. Holm should be getting game time at Hibs.

We should be assessing other clubs' needs and offering a youngster who would fill that gap.

They get developed, they can do harm to the huns, the other clubs get decent players.

We need to dominate this league off the pitch as we have done on the pitch for nearly a decade and a half.

    Spot on.

Oh would be a great shout for Aberdeen as well. I can see us signing at least 2 strikers this summer, so I think we will have plenty of departures, both temporary and permanently.

Ideally get him loaned out to a lower Championship or playoff chasing League One side in England. Not too fussed about his age as good DMs tend to age later anyway.

Either that or if we're interested in another Asian player then could always use him as part of swap deal.

One big misconception about him is that he's really not a DM. He has good defensive instincts but he's not particularly strong or good in the air for his height. He's much more of a box to box midfielder (which also won't help his cause here as we're stacked with those already). Though Rodgers turned Ajer from a midfielder to a centre back so maybe he could re-form him as a DM if he really wanted.

He shoulda been at them from August. Ridiculous decisions on so many levels how we've handled it.
