Kieran Tierney

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by Mr. Slippyfist, Aug 1, 2015.

  1. I don't understand why people (and even Brendan has mentioned KT becoming a centre-back) want to move KT away from left-back where his attacking prowess is one of our biggest threats to the opposition.

I don't think anyone see's his future as anywhere else but on the left flank. However, becoming versatile and able to fill in in the middle now and again cant be a bad thing

Although KT can play anywhere along the back line he he is wasted to a degree when he is not on the left flank. He is one of our best attacking options, especially as Sinclair cuts inside and he overlaps.

Definitely not but he has the footballing brain, in a crisis, he could do a job as a makeshift defensive midfield type.

Not that I'd want him there, just think he has the footballing brain to be able to do so.

Probably as an auxiliary but it's the same as when people were calling for Virgil in midfield. Could easily play there, but if it aint broke...

I would have said that about him playing centre back as well but * me, he's becoming so all rounded it's unreal.

  9. Superb passing from the back, couple over the top and couple of crossfield balls perfectly weighted.

Thought he was poor tonight. First time I've really seen that, at any level.

  14. I thought him and Sinclair were our two best players tbh. He never really let Mbappe past him that I remember even though Mbappe scored, he also passed the ball forward better than probably anyone in our team.

Only him and Sinclair really looked comfortable at doing their job.

This is why Sinclair is far better than Roberts. Forrest give a similar protection on the right. Tierney needs to work on some basics to improve mainly being his ball control. Love the guy but he should have played better tonight as well. Defensively, decent enough against a terrific player.

He's untouchable, people are scared to criticise him. Last night he wasn't near his best, the space they had down our left was ridiculous and that was down to him and Sinclair. Lost count how many times they got in behind him last night. All well and good being the golden boy but he deserves criticism as much as anybody on that park last night I'm afraid.

...now waiting for someone to get upset because I'm not bowing down to our all mighty prince.

Still got much to improve on in Europe. As he should, seeing as he's only 20.

Thought he was poor last night and a bit surprised to see people say otherwise.

Positionally he was terrible. Whether that is solely down to him or a combination of that and what Rodgers told him to do, who knows.

Our back 4 were horrifically narrow at times.

How many poor games has KT had in a Celtic jersey ?

The whole team were poor last night, as Brendan would say it's about the collective.

KT is definitely not untouchable. I've seen plenty people admit to when he has been under par, including last nights game. Given his Tim credentials he will be cut more slack than others, that's natural. Of course he deserves criticism where it's due and he'll get it.

You'll be waiting a while mate...
