According to the daily ranger WGS wants Jan for another year. He was instumental in our league win last year but he did miss a big part of the year through injury and has done nothing this season. Time to go, IMO!

I still think he'll provide something in the title run-in..

The only striker i want GONE is Sammy...

Sutton was a great player for us but when towards the end of his time at CP he was missing more games than he was playing it was time to go. It breaks the team momentum up when certain players cant play 5 games in a row does it not.

Time for the big man to go I think. I think he's great because I know he loves Celtic and you can tell that when he plays.

Purely in a footballing sense he's a yard off the pace and on a hefty wage, think someone like fletcher who might be on a quarter of his wage would be an ideal replacment.

The big man has had a bad season for a variety of reasons but I'd keep faith with him. He can score goals at any level and can always be called on to put blood, sweat and tears into it for the club.

Given his age though I think next year will be his last. Most players on the wrong side of 30 decline and given his already injury prone nature...

I'd stick with all our srikers bar Killen. Wrap up Fletcher in the summer, and loan out McGowan, Hutchinson and Sheridan.

if u look back to pre season, he was been linked with alot of clubs for alot of money, just because he's having a bad spell atm, dosn't mean he's *, so yes he should be giving a extension.

To be honest, I'd like to see JVOH, Samaras & Killen moved on in the summer.
Jan's had his time at the club, at 30 years old he appears to be getting slower & less influencial on games compared to previous seasons.
He might just be having a bad season, but for me personally, I'd like to see him moved on & some fresh blood brought into the club. Hutchinson & Sheridan will hopefully be more competative next season & push for more inclusion in the first team squad.

Depending if we could actually get a decent big sized striker in place for JVoH, i can't see him staying here. Sammy i think will probs stay another season unless he gets better oppertunities. A striker would really need to be one of our main priorities for the summer transfer season.

Hesselink is the kind of player who stays quiet for 60 minutes, then pops up with an important goal. Keep him IMO.

Celtic manager Gordon Strachan wants Dutch striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink to stay in Glasgow.
The former PSV Eindhoven striker has scored in just one game this season and his contact ends in the summer.
The player was dropped for the Co-operative Insurance Cup final and will also miss out on Netherlands' World Cup qualifier against Scotland.
"Of course I want Jan here next year," said Strachan. "I want all my good players here." <!-- E SF -->
The Dutch striker signed for Celtic from PSV Eindhoven in 2006 for £3.4m and Strachan is looking to exercise the option on his contract.
But the forward has been inconsistent in front of goal and was named as a substitute in Celtic's victory over Rangers in the Hampden final. <!-- S IBOX --><TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=231 align=right border=0><TBODY><TR><TD width=5>[IMG]</TD><TD class=sibStdQuote>

"It's not really my task. I indicate who I want to stay and that's it," said Strachan.
"I'm the guy who wants him, but if he wants 100 grand a week I'm not the guy who decides it in the end.
"But we like Jan here and want him as long as he enjoys it and can be part of things.
"The guys love him. We love him as coaches as well. "We all go through difficult periods. It's just about getting a couple of goals - that's all that is missing." <!-- E BO -->

I think he will be vital tomorrow against Utd where he can get his scoring boots back on

TBH if he can get out of his rut before the end of the season and gets atleast 5 goals in that time then i wouldn't mind him sticking around 4 one more season. just wish we could bring his wages down though
