Hi mate, I said, it's part of our football culture, not the country's culture. Mexican football is not only mexican players, it includes all other foreigners, so yeah, diving, faking fouls, pressuring the refferee, etc. Are all part of the Mexican football culture, it happens in the NT as well.

    Regards.

    Hi mate,
Well, I'm not endorsing it, but I think the fan reaction to a dive was exaggerated. Is not that we like it, but we have grown used to it.

    Regards.

are we still talking bout this?

He's latin, he dived, he got booked and probably caught some stick from the manager and definitely has gotten some from the fans. I'd be surprised to see him attempt it again. end of

    I don't agree...

I have read many of the posts and just sayin "he is latin"... sorry no... diving, cheating, referee bullying, etc. is a SOUTHAMERICAN thing, not latin.... central americans, northamericans and the caribbean DON'T DIVE as a culture.

Blanco is a bad example, everybody in Mexico cheer him, but when he starts diving, complaining and etc. people start moking at him and shout "start playing clown!".... just because one guy does it, it doesn't mean we do it as a culture.

In fact we are always angry that when we play "Libertadores Cup" southamerican players try to decieve the referee, it is really insulting... and their commentators even cheer it!!

Yes, we dive in Mexico, but as frequently as in any other part in the world, England, Scotland, Brazil, Italy, choose it... it is part of the game YES, but we don't practice it in a normal basis.

Sorry, but southamericans and the other americans.... we are from different schools... I think that's the idea of "latinos", but we are not the same.

    rubbish!

Mexican players dive as much as the next nationality
Don't generalize the whole of south american as divers

It is not something that is encoded in the dna it comes down to the player, not the nationality

Is it more accepted as part of the game? yes

Players will always try to get an advantage somehow, mexican player are no saints and are guilty of this as well

diving, time wasting, pressuring the ref..

Turn on any Mexican first division game and you will see those types of things

time to get of the high horse, no?

    Juarez dived.. big deal

The sun came up the following day :celt_2:

I don't see how that excuses it, they don't play for Celtic anymore. For what it's worth, their antics * me off just as much, as great as they were for us.

After watching a clip i seen there was no contact. But it is still possible to dive and then get on with the game without incident (the ref is in control) the main gripe has to be the rolling around. This is what i was trying to say earlier in the thread (even though i thought there was contact- which there isn't, or at least very, very little) diving and the rollin aftermath are seperate.

It's just one of those things I suppose mate, doesn't bother some people but really bothers others. Personally, I love him as a player and I don't think it will change many celtic fan's opinions of him but I do hope he cuts it out because it's not fair and just brings bad publicity to us.

i dont really like it either but imo we have been TOO honest, especially in europe, when players were rolling about , timewasting v us i thought we should do it but not sure now

That really annoys me as well, the Deco's of this world, but I still don't think we should sink to their level. Just leave the dishonest to it!

not sure if i would rather loose a game fairly than by cheating to win, think its a hard desicion ie. 2003 porto, infact im proud that we lost by playing fair than cheating tbh but its a hard desicion
