  1. I think some of us are undervaluing Allan because he has no future at Celtic.

I just think people overestimate players loyalty to other football clubs tbh mate, there’s very few Kieran Tierney’s out there.

McGinn wouldn’t be worth £4m if he had 4 years left on his deal never mind a year.

Think this one is all about opinions so I'll throw in mine.

If we go over 2m and Scott Allan then we are foolish.

Also, I'm not sure Brendan wants him that bad(prepared to be shot down for that).

Of the Snodgrass,Fletcher and McCarthy comparisons I understand peoples frustrations, but I don't think McGinn is that great a player, and not near as good as any of them three.

I will not be dissapointed if we miss out.

Used to live in fear that we'd sign Fletcher. Worst was when it was the rumour we were signing him or Danny Graham.

  7. I wanted Fletcher and for 2 year's down here he smashed it for relegated side's..

I was absolutely gutted when we never got McCarthy and didn't understand why we * that up..

Both have been injury prone in hindsight but McCarthy is 1 that got away without a doubt..

Is McGinn on his level? Not for me, I agree..

Just my 2 cents here but no way do I think he is worth anything near 3mill with a year left... To out it into perspective we paid 4 for ntcham who is a far far superior player to mcginn...
For me its 2 mill or not at all.... He could as many have pointed out go to another club or we could sign him on a free in 6 months time...
We also have Eboue that we paid 3 mill for sitting warming the bench... Would rather start to bleed him into the team and invest in defence.

Always feel we are reluctant to pay big fees for players from our own league(exception being Brown). With the market being what it it is now, espicially in England, other clubs don't mind paying over the odds and maybe ending up with a player who doesn't work out. This is why we have lost out on previous players for me.

He has the raw materials that Brendan looks for in a midfielder , Energetic and Dynamic and can put it about if needed too.
Proven in this league and would only get better under someone like Brendan that's why i think he'd be worth the hassle long term , i mean Ntcham isn't going to play every game neither is Broony.

Id have taken him from Hibs. As soon as he broke his ankle for Scotland vs. Wales, he was done. Never managed to recover to the level he was playing at until that point.

  12. A lot of players only just came into form in the way we were playing though. Ajer and Boyata came onto a game, Forrest ad Tierney were flourishing the wing-back roles, Ntcham was just settling in, Rogic coming back into a game and combining well with McGregor who was kicking on and had gone up a level and Edouard also was improving by the month.

Last season we got off to a slow start really, Sinclair was struggling and then with him not doing a lot it forced the change to 3-4-2-1/3-4-1-2 and it took us a couple of months before players started clicking in that formation.

I'd be happy with McGinn to add squad depth and another Boyata type to replace Lustig. The only player without real cover if Forrest but we could always change to a 4 at the back if he was to get injured and use Morgan/Johnston/Sinclair.

Each season we must always strive to improve and evolve the squad, to only sign Edouard would be standing still IMO.
MF,RW,RB and CB we could do with coming in.

    MF?

We will sign more, CB, RB & LB are the priority tho..

And McGinn too, really want him but we’re playing it right so far..

I don’t think the squad needs freshened up at all, it needs quality gems (of which Odsonne is one).

I still think we need that X factor player that we’ve not properly had since right back when Lenny was hunting for him and thought he’d found him in Boerrigter. Rodgers mentions it every window as well.

We tried last season with 2 quality "gems" in Roberts and Musonda a player with the x factor sure we need that i think we will get it. If it has to be a loan so be it , Not a great fan of them though unless we can sign them.

Roberts at his peak? Dembele in his first year, Rogic and McGregor when they take over...

Sinclair in his first season? Even going back a few seasons, Commons in 2013/14 was sensational. I think we have a bunch of players with that "x factor", but this past season we saw the team look a bit tired and stale, with a number of reasons for it of course.

This is exactly why the squad needs a refresh; players like Sinclair need to be pushed and kept on their toes a bit, which is why I think players like Morgan will have an important role to play.

Signing a player like McGinn will push the midfielders against complacency, and still give him time to grow and mature into being a quality, first team player for us.

In my opinion, the one area we need to sign a "gem" or two, is the backline. Need definite upgrades there, but our midfield (with McGinn) and our attacking area are solid.

Brendan doesn’t sign defenders so get any notion of 3 players for the back coming in it won’t happen unless we lose Boyata and 1 other.
