Transfer Window Slams Shut
Celtic today saw any chances to add to their squad cancelled out with the closure of the transfer window. Clubs were informed that after the closure of the transfer window the only way a transfer could go through was if both clubs could prove that the bad weather was the cause of the delay in transfer.
Celtics activity came at the start of January signing Lukasz Zaluska, Milan Misun, Niall McGinn and recently added Willo Flood as their last capture of the winter transfer window.
Zaluska will join Celtic on the 1st of July after agreeing a pre-contract with the Champions at the end of December. Niall McGinn and Milan Misun are already a part of the Celtic squad but have yet to make their debut in the famous Hoops.
Willo Flood the recent signing from Dundee Utd will wear the number 16 shirt as previously held by the legendary Roy Keane in his brief stint with the Bhoys, he too is yet to make his debut for Celtic.
The last day of the window saw Celtic allow a few reserve and fringe players to go on loan to gain some much needed first team experience:
Cillian Sheridan (Motherwell)
Paul Caddis (Dundee Utd)
Chris Killen (Norwich)
Those three join Scott Cuthbert (St. Mirren) and Paul McGowan (Hamilton) on the loan Celts list.
One player departed Celtic permanently in young promising midfielder Rocco Quinn, who has penned a 6-month contract with Hamilton.
Celtic tried to snap up Steven Fletcher from Hibs on the last day but were unable to push through a deal before the closure of the window and reports suggest that the Hibs forward is furious at the club for not agreeing a fee with the Glasgow giants.
His agent, Scott Fisher had this to say:
"Steven is extremely disappointed and feels let down by Hibs."
"Hibs were unwilling to give Celtic a concrete figure and so we were unable to conclude a deal. He feels he is not getting the opportunity to further his career," he added.

Ex-Celt retires
January also marked the end of a career for an Ex-Celt in Thomas Gravesen, The Dane had been a free agent since leaving Celtic by mutual consent earlier this season.
Gravesen made 35 appearances for the Hoops, 11 of them coming off of the bench, and scored 6 goals, including one Hat-trick against St Mirren.
