Never seen anything like this before. He’s not even linked with us and he’s having interviews with the club magazine saying he’d do anything to come here.

 

We’ve got Johnston and probably Morgan pushing for a place in the team, with Forrest, Hayes, Sinclair and Roberts already here. There’s really no place for him unless we let Hayes go.

Never a bad thing to have a genuinely passionate guy in the team, whether he's good enough or Rodgers would even want him is another matter.

Would be far better back up to Sinclair than Hayes, also he'd be great in the CL because of his work-rate and pace.

Now, not that I think he's a very good footballer or anything. He IS good, but he's nothing special.

That being said, having a direct winger who would put his heart and soul into this team would be something very positive to this squad. Having a very good footballer who'd give 80%, as opposed to a good footballer who'd run through a brick wall for ye every time he pulled on his beloved green and white Hoops?

The money in January has to be spent on players who are going to come in and go straight into the first team we shouldn't be wasting any money on a back up winger we don't need when we can save the wages for a player of better quality in another position.

There's probably a few young guys in the youth team who'd love to play for Celtic as much as McClean and would rather they got the chance than someone nearly 30.

If he had went about this the right way i.e discretely through an agent etc then he might of been on the radar. He is certainly no worse than Johnny Hayes but I don't want him here. We need better than him.

McClean is a far superior player to Hayes. There’s a reason he has 50 more caps than Hayes despite being two years younger.
