Totally agree. Will be a massive boost when he is fit and back in the team.

He has the potential to be the best player in the country when he can be bothered.

    * under Deila, amazing under Rodgers, average at best under Lennon.

It's more an attitude thing with him.

16 goals and 22 assists in season that was cut short.

Definitely a lot more effective and consistent under Rodgers though, probably due to coaching.

Was very poor before his injury, no surprise he was carrying a injury.

We need him back and firing soon.

JAMES FORREST is set to undergo surgery on a stress fracture to his ankle.

The Celtic star has been sidelined for the past month after going off injured in the 1-0 Europa League win over FC Riga.

And now the winger faces an even longer spell on the sidelines as boss Neil Lennon delivered the disappointing news.

    Lennon said: "He requires surgery.

That will hopefully take place next week and get that tidied up, but he'll be out for a period of time. I don't know how long, it will depend on how successful the surgery is."

It means Forrest will also miss Scotland's Euro 2020 play-off final away to Serbia.

  9. We definitely won't see him again this year then..

The problem is we don't have another right winger..

This is making the decision not to bring in a wide player capable of covering at least the right but preferably either side look silly now.

We have Frimpong who could play further forward but with him having had to play so many games in Elhamed’s absence not to mention Hatem’s injury track record, I fear he might burn himself out given the volume of game’s.

We are desperately short of options in the wide areas. Could Mikey play on the right once fit?

Aye, we could play Frimpong in front of Elhamed or MJ on the right. But we need him back.

  12. Deffo mate..

Means if either of them get a knock, we're light at right back as well as on the wing..

We'll need to persist with Christie on the right i think. Mikey can play there and maybe Mo possibly but it's no ideal..

Deffo need to sign a winger or 2 in January..

Aye, Christie is hit or miss on the right in fact we've rarely utilised him properly. Think we've both said it before he's an 8 just ahead of McGregor on the 6.

I've genuinely never known any time like this re injuries to our major players. Corona Virus apart, we seem to pick up far more serious type injuries than most other teams (especially the huns). What does everyone else think re injuries i.e. do you think it's just bad luck or do you think it's our training regime or do you think other teams have carte blanche just to kick the * out of us?

Have we ever tried Mikey Johnson off the right? Coming in on his left foot could be something worth looking into

Re your last question there, I think there’s no doubt some players in other teams still carry an old school, “take out their key player” mentality. Any big team gets hit with that to some extent (Pickford on Van Dijk, etc).

But to me the main reason for our injury list is defs training. Same last time with Lenny. We continually had knock after knock - minor and major - in his first tenure.

I remember when Deila (who was hardly Klopp himself) came in, he spoke openly, and more than once, about the sheer lack of athleticism and conditioning of the squad. Back to square one, it seems...

He's played more centrally on occasion but never on the right is how I remember his appearances.

Glad Christie can do a job on the Right! We miss Forrest of course though. Hard player to replace.
