Looking increasingly likely that Samaras and Ledley are heading for the exit door. Personally, I'd also try to sell Forster off now while his stock is relatively high (definitely convinced he will be asking away this January anyway).

Fridjonsson (imo) looks like he could be a like-for-like replacement for Samaras, getting a replacement goalkeeper in just now would give both he and his defence the rest of the season to gel (in preparation for next season's CL qualifiers) and quite possibly try to replace Ledley, or promote someone from the internal squad - someone like Kayal (once fit) or give Rogic an opportunity to cement a place.

We are still crying out for more goals from the frontline (even if they are performing well enough outwith goalscoring). Has Stokes' contract been renewed yet? Also looking increasingly more likely that we will be trying to find a goalscorer i.e. Finboggason, Johanssen etc.

Bangura has come back after completing a full season in Sweden - as much as he deserves a chance as any other player in the team, will he really be able to come back and become a hit? Where will he get his rest from? Moyoukolo must be due back shortly as well after a bad injury - hpefully he fully recovers to become a decent squad member.

This window gives Lennon a decent opporchancity to rejig the squad for the better and for more longevity - whether it's just PR nonsense that we are looking at the Dundee Utd youngsters i don't know, but I'd definitely love for us to have more young home-grown talents in the squad.

Stokes got a new three year deal a couple of weeks ago.

I really hope Ledley and Sammy stay on, especially Ledley.

I'd love to see more of our own youngsters getting a first team opportunity.

Spend decent money on a striker to help with CL qualification next season, hopefully in January to give him time to bed into the team.

    Brilliant :50:

I think Ledley's mind may be set on leaving - if it is (which I certainly hope it is not), then we should attempt to move him on now as soon as possibly.

Samaras can go the now as far as I'm concerned.

I would actually prefer it if Ledley saw out his contract. We won't get a lot of money for him as there is only 6 months left on his contract.

It's time to go for samaras, looks like he can't be arsed. Look at the hearts and Motherwell games, he never played and we were fantastic, he comes back in to the team and everytine he gets the ball he slows down the play meaning we can't do the quick passing game that was so effective before.

We can easily win the league without Ledley.

I want him to stay but if he wants to go we should look to get something for him, plus is a player who has signed a pre contract elsewhere going to be giving his all in every game?

Never mind the fact that if he is going I'd rather see someone else move in to his place and start building for next season.

That's all before you consider the wages we would be saving.

I really want him to sign another deal but if he doesn't then it's a no brainer for me... Punt!

Think about the saved wages as well, he is the top earner is he not? On about 25k p/w? That's a lot of money to save, or even use on somebody else.

Good points about the wages and building for next season. I think Armstrong would be an ideal foil for Scott Brown central midfield. Different type of player than Ledley though.

I'd love Ledley to be here for the foreseeable future, but we could easily secure a player to fill the slot he's left with the wages saved (as well as transfer fee received).

There's no excuse for us these days to have our top players/earners leaving on frees.

Normally that would be the case but we got him in on a free. I just thought it would have been good if he saw out the contract he signed back in 2010. If the board want to cash in this month then I will understand that as it makes business sense.

The fact that he came in on a free, does not mean he should be going out on one.

I think it's vital that we either give the fringe players a chance - Biton etc - or bring in some players and bed them in before the inevitable 3 week close season in the summer. Ledley still might surprise us and sign a new deal. BBC are reporting that he's intimating about stating and Matthews has hinted at it. Out of Sammy and Ledley, we need to keep Ledley. Maybe it's time that Sammy goes on to pastures new.

We are never going to pick up world class names in January but we can get some quality players that are unknown - we've done it before. Also agree with Paddy, Forser is going to leave in the summer, if we get a big bid then we should take it and get in a similar keeper. In an ideal world, Forster stays until the summer, gets to the World Cup, adds a few million to his price and then goes, but we'd be left with Zaluska and a new keeper who doesn't know the team well.

Fridjonssen might bring something that we've missed. A creative midfielder, left back and a keeper and I'll be happy.

Unless they leave it late and stall on new contract.
To many players know they can get a nice sign on fee if they play it smart.
Ledley did it when coming here and looks like he may do it on the way out as well.

No such thing as loyalty in football anymore ledley shafted his boyhood heroes for a signing on fee coming here, he'll be doing the same to us on the way back to cardiff if we dont sell him this month.

    Get shot of Forster.
Use some of the money to keep Ledley.
    Get big Fridj playing asap.
    Buy David Forde from Millwall.
    Happy days!

It's got to be a reshaping of the squad, every team needs an injection and can go abit stale..
Even the best teams in the world will change it even when there still winning everything..

Anyone who doesn't want to be here or has there head turned has to go and it looks likely that Sammy and joe are first out the door..
I agree with the op and been saying it for a while big fraser wants away and his interviews have * me off,his stock is still high, not quite as much as last season in Europe but we must try and get a fee as big as possible and a January sale is our best option..

A couple of additions attacking wise and the whole second half of the season to settle pukki, biton, balde and co to get things right and we'll be ok..

We need a real poacher and playmaker as again today we struggled to cut through an organised defence,we also struggle with any deliveries in the box or cut backs..
    It's vital we address this..

I know I batter on about him a lot but from videos (Hardly the best source, I know) Most if not all of big Fridj's goals are Hooper-esk.
Think he'll come good and we should save money for Taylor-Sinclair to give Izzy an extra push to be the player we know he can be week in and out!

All the makings of a good striker. Definitely needs a lot of game time from now till the end of season!

Funny thing is he'll most likely get more starts than balde who's been here 6 month longer and cost 1.7 mill more :56:
