    It's not, Ibrox is though.

It's something to do with the off-field facilities. Hampden's one too, and only 5-star stadiums can host European cup finals.

    No, Celtic Park is 4*.

The away dressing room is too small, both dressing rooms need to be the same size for 5* and the tunnel is also not up to standards.

Ibrox is a 5* stadium, Hampden is 5* too, but UEFA said if they gave out 6 Stars, Hampden would be one of only a handful of stadiums in Europe to get 6 stars.

i would think the big beams that cause restricted views may be another reason

The restricted view beams have nothing to do with according to the article in wikipedia.

The main criteria which must be met, to be categorised as an 'Elite' stadium are:

    • Stadiums must be all seated and have a minimum capacity of 30,000
    • The playing surface dimensions must be 105 metres in length and 68 metres in width and the perimeter must be entirely fence free. Does this mean that rangers can't shorten the pitch when their playing technically better teams like us :icon_mrgreen:

    • The distance between the goalposts must be 7.32 m and the crossbar must be 2.44 m from the ground. Lmaof i thought all professional league stadiums had the same size goals ffs
    • The playing surface must either be natural turf or FIFA Licensed artificial turf
    • The substitute benches must seat at least 13 people
    • The dressing rooms must seat at least 25 people
    • There should also be a separate 'Delegate's Room', 'Doping Station' and 'First Aid Room'
    • The floodlights must have a brightness value of at least 1400 lux
    • Stadiums must have CCTV both inside and outside and a 'Security Control Room'
    • Must provide seating for at least 1500 VIPs and 200 journalists
    • There must be at least three TV studios within the Stadium.
Although the minimum stadium capacity for Elite categorisation is 30,000, no stadium with a capacity less than 40,000 has been selected to host a UEFA Cup Final and no stadium with a capacity less than 60,000 has been selected to host a UEFA Champions League Final, since these regulations were introduced in 2006.

Sepp Blatter on a visit to Parkhead once described it as a 5 star stadium.
But people are correct when they say it has no official 5 star rating.

Our away dressing room needs to be larger.

Who gives a * anyway would rather have paradise than mordor it's the fans in the stadium that counts

I agree with you on the point that the fans are the ones that count in a stadium. But it would be nice to have a CL final at Paradise with Celtic winning it there.
    Oh I can dream.. :celt_2:

Even if CP was a 5 star stadium, all European Finals in Glasgow/Scotland will still be played at Hampden.

Ibrox is a 5 start stadium, when did they last host a European Final?
