It was an even contest going into the game.

They had a couple of players out. We had a couple of players out.

We had one missing player, and Postecoglou more or less blamed the result on that.

That’s my point. They have depth, we don’t.

Each of these derby games against Rangers need to be treated in the same way as a SPL Cup Final, no matter the venue.

Do you think it’d have been as close, had we only had the iPad and Kennedy in the dugout?

Thats spot on we were missing Jullian and Forrest who would have started for sure and McCarthy maybe if he was up to speed.

Once again they beat us by doing very little.

We look the better team by a mile in an attacking sense.

They don’t look as defensively sound as last season but they are still better than us in this regard.

Factor in they had a full house and that Ange has only had 6 weeks with the team and we are still rebuilding.. it’s going to be a close league this year.

We are lacking a lot of physicality which they now have. Without Brown in that midfield there isnt a real combative player.
Also we have been again exposed by set pieces. Katic did it and now Helander.
We need to be bringing in defenders who can both defend on the ground and in the air.

In terms of how we work the ball i agree, but individually none of our attacking players bar Kyogo turned up.

This is massive. We're all for bringing in skillful players, obviously, but our team is FULL of skillful guys who are relatively small and short. Teams are always going to get the best of us if they can just lump high balls into set pieces and out-jump/out-muscle us en-masse. I hate when * gets denigrated down to this kind of 'sizism' but unfortunately in Scotland it's very much a factor.

We need a hard man in CB and DM who can flip that dynamic, or we'll keep dropping points, especially to the Huns, because they won't get tired or panic like some other teams, and they'll always get these set piece chances.

Tbh i thot it was a bit already a bit backwards to be sitting counting huns in the media.. so its a new low to be guessing who might be.

Not only that, but players of the right character. When you look at Ajeti.. who ever looked at him and thought theres a winner?
he might be a finisher on his day for his previous club but it has to be about the overall package. When the going gets the slightest bit tough the powderpuff players or those in it just for the money will be the first to let us down.

Correct, in the SPL I would think you need talented players with backbone as well to play for Celtic.
I would say that was true in the past as well.

FWIW in Postecoglou's Brisbane team that went 37 games unbeaten he had this guy anchoring the midfield, all 6'4" of him:

The manager knows what's needed. Whether he is given that is another thing altogether.

We could have easily won that game on Sunday and left Rangers mid-table, giving us a clear run at the title.

Unfortunately due to some poor forward play we spurned that chance, but I like the look of the new signing coming in to replace Edouard, a superstar striker from Greece who just scored 26 goals in a relegated team.
He could be the prolific 'cutting edge' we been looking for to help win us the title this season.

He used to play for Greenock Morton. Iv seen him play a few times when he was there. Didnt think he would play higher than that level.
