Hinkel poised to sign for Celtic

</td></tr> </tbody></table> <!-- E IIMA --> <!-- S SF --> German international full-back Andreas Hinkel has agreed a January transfer to Celtic, BBC Sport understands.
The attacking right-back will move from Spanish club Sevilla, who he joined from Stuttgart in June 2006.
The 25-year-old had been talking to Wolfsburg and Borussia Dortmund after submitting a transfer request.
But Hinkel, capped 17 times, has been to Glasgow and passed a medical and will be eligible to play when Celtic entertain Rangers on 2 January. <!-- E SF -->
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has been short of a right-back because of injuries to Mark Wilson and Jean-Joel Perrier Doumbe.

Central defender Gary Caldwell has filled that position in recent games.
"Hinkel isn't getting the continuity he needs, because he's competing with Daniel Alves, the best right back in the world," Sevilla sports director Ramon Rodriguez told the club website.<!-- E BO -->

Good stuff can't wait to see what this guy has got in his locker. He must be decent if he's won 17 caps for Germany.

You're looking for problems before they arise. Do you know what negative means?

theres already a topic on it, wether or not he should be playing for the first team against rangers on the 2nd.- everyone looking for problems including you, as you also posted in the forum before they arise?

fact is stach now has a dilema- play him and get beat "should never have played against rangers, not ready"
play caldwell and get beat - "* not play hinkle for?"

negative dosn't mean looking for problems before they arise, kid.:86:

i doubt he's on as much as 40k a week. it was more the transfer fee that was apparently silly money .i.e. 2m instead of 1.2 or somthing that the german club offerd.
seville refused the german club's offer so he only had one contract to look at...

    What?

You don't know the 2nd is to soon for him so your creating problems before they arise. Anyway, this is in danger of getting a bit tedious, the bottom line is am lookin forward to seeing him play

you would think that would mean the brazillian wouldnt sign now but, this was brought up on another forum and someone reckoned both may sign and there is a rumour going about that Wilson's injury is career ending. Dont know the ultimate source or if there is anything in it but it was mentioned on Celtic Quick News today in the Hinkel thread. That would be a tragedy if you remember how good he was at LB in his first half season.
