It actually looks a really good bill and very little is left undefined. I think a lot of people went in to default persecution complex mode without being in full posession of the facts, when they had only read the bare framework document.

It looks like the police will decide on the day what is & isn't.

It leaves too much vagueness. It shouldn't be down to their
    interpretation of the intent.

..and it goes on to define it in great detail. Also, the deadline passed before the cannon on the castle rock fired today. Its all over. This will be law in a week or two. Scottish football will be dragged into the 21st century and it will be a game fit for families and children to watch without having to witness angry wee men winding each other up with politics, nationalism, religion etc. The Scottish game is moving into adulthood after a century as a juvenile delinquent. I think only a small minority would read through that bill and be much worried now the detail is filled in. ONly those who are deprived of their 'rigth' to spout about religion and political bloodshed will be offended.

It still has to go through court and be proven. Its not like the police are being made the judges and jury too.

That implies you have to go to court and ruin an otherwise good day, why the * should I have to drag my * to court to have my time wasted cos the cops decided something I did was offensive to a reasonable person.

The police are in court with you telling the jury that your
    actions were offensive,hateful & inciteful.

They aren't going to arrest you then say in court
you were probably only joking :97:

I see this bit is still in it as well "The offence also specifies that persons can be regarded as having been on a journey to or from a regulated football match whether or not the person attended or
    intended to attend the match."

Totally agree. Feel we are peering over the edge of a very slippery slope and judging by the reports from the GB, the police are taking liberties already.

Are you an SNP supporter by any chance gunt? Not a dig as I generally agree with your opinions on here.

The way rabble rousers have sought to portray this bill as specifically anti-Celtic is nonsense. As for the bullshit people have been saying about blessing etc, this bill actually states religious gestures dont count. It makes it clear that humourous stuff wont end up with you in jail. Its clearly aimed at bigotted hate, threats and referring to past or future violent episodes. I can see nothing that is unreasonable in this. I think its the knowledge of the away rabble that there will be no more ra songs, roman in the gloamin, add ons etc that is behind some peoples attitude. Irish stuff like Soldier Songs (and all national anthems, fields etc will remain.

You really are pushing this - you've already put this article in the original thread. It's still far too obscure and absolutely everything in life could be deemed offensive. Football will die in this country at this rate.

Honestly I dont really have much love for the SNP but they are the only vehicle to independence or semi-independence we will see for decades. It has no effect on my opinion. You know me, I have been against the political aspects of our songbook for years, long before the bill was thought of.

The police thing is a misnomer. They can arrest and report and gather evidence but the courts will decide if it is proven and justifiable. The jury of a random selection of people will ultimately decide on guilt or innocence and the judge will decide on the sentence.

Rabble rousers, victim element, the paranoids...

Are you capable of talking about your fellow fans in a less condescending way?
