Hearts tonight issued the following statement:

Heart of Midlothian FC can confirm that a full investigation into the events which took place in the second half of tonight's game against Celtic is underway.

Hearts is a club which prides itself on its "football for all" policy and these sorts of actions have no place in the game of football.

We will give our full support to the stewards and the police authorities in the ensuing investigation into the events at tonight's match.

No apology. Jefferies when asked on sky about the controversy he ignored the Neil Lennon incident. When asked directly about the incident he deflected the blame to the sending off and the vile atmosphere in the ground. He want on to say that the atmosphere is usually good, in other words the sour atmosphere was the fault of Celtic fans.

exactly there staff failed to do there job so they should be apologising if lenny had been hurt hearts would be liable, the drunk * should never of been allowed to get on the park. no apology, they need to sort themselves out.

Slightly disagree. What he did say was to ask as to how it was possible for a fan to have been able to get on undetected, so he did point the finger at his club's security (or lack thereof). It was brief, but he did comment on that aspect. Then he went on to deflect attention away, to the referee & the first red card etc.

 

And what has this to do with this thread .

That statement was handed in about 2 mins after the game finished so Hearts felt they had to say something quickly ,Jim Jefferies ,NeilMcCann said it was shocking to see this in football and i dare say a lot of other Managers will back this ,someone is for the high jump on this at Tynecastle as it was seen to be far to easy for that * to get as far as he did.

 

Short and sweet. They dont give a *. The cheering of their fans after the incident happened said it all. Scum club, scum fans. End of. Was the same last time they came to Paradise. Was * sickened by them that night too.

that's exactly what i thought when i heard it, the visiting manager is attacked by a fan of theirs and not a mention of their concern for Lennon. Dreadful press release.

 

I hope the * are taken to task for this which of course they wont .

 

I heard that statement last night. I was disappointed there was no apology in there.

 

The first line of any statement from Hearts should have read 'After tonights incident, HoMFC would like to make an unreserved apology to Neil Lennon & his backroom staff'

It's absolutely disgusting that this one doesn't.
