Again mate, that is a crap.

Could you even tell me the teams we faced under O'Neill? because if you believe they were better than those we faced under Strachan than you're in a fantasy land. If you want i'll rhyme off the opposition and their position in the league when they qualified and where they finished in their league in the season we faced them.

I think it is, when we play great this site is full of praise for the team and manager, but when we disgrace ourselves people don't want to properly discuss it and allegations of hun and being a crap fan are banded about.
I'm not being personal here though.

Now some examples of "bad luck" or what I would call us not creating our own luck. We were closer to qualifying for the 2nd round than most people realize.

    1. Robson missed penalty in first game vs. Aalborg +2 points
    2. Holding out against Man. U. like we did the previous home game against them, "unlucky" fumble by Boruc +2 points
    3. WINNING AT * AALBORG that game was a shame +3 points

Total would be 10 points. These things were bad luck AND mistakes that we could have avoided.

The point I'm trying to make is we're not pish, we didn't go to the last 16 because of only luck, and we didn't fail this time because of only bad luck or because of a pish team.

Hammer surely you accept MON was a little unlucky not to have qualified, and that GS was a little lucky in some games.

Its a fact that GS is more succesfu overalll though,

I'm not trying to slate O'Neill at all, a brilliant manager he is and was. It comes across as that a lot because it has to be said to get my point across regarding Strachan.

The difference between the 2 is 1 had the media eating out the palm of his hand and the other holds them in utter contempt.

i have defended wgs and some players on here, but enough is enough.
our team is poor we have no leaders on the pitch and it is not about todays result.
we have struggled all season, they is more bad performances that good which is a major worry. i held back waiting for our injury list to clear but now it has we are performing worse than at any time of the season.
so the answer to the thread is yes we are handing the title to them.
after the last old firm game we thought that it was done and dusted this is clearly not the case

    Robsons penalty against Aalborg.
Browns 'offside' goal in the same game.
Boruc parrying Ronaldos shot to Giggs.
Sennas free kick that shouldn't have been.
2 off side Berbatov goals at Old Trafford.
Deflected goal in Aalborg and a richocheted own goal.

    Will I go on?

No I'm not saying Strachan is better than O'Neill, the comparison is boring and tbh null and void.

Feel free to discuss it, threads with the title 'handing the spl to the huns' is not discussing it. They are based on ignorance and hiden agendas.

i dont agree with you mate there i think we are pish - it pains me to say it because all my mates support EPL teams and are always saying celtic are * but i have to agree with them :54:
    1. never has there been a worse team in the champions league than allborg ! and managed to take 1 pt off them !
    2. the united game was like men against boys but our boys played their hearts out and got a point and did us proud ! but i cant say we were unlucky not to get the 3pts

Martin O'neill is twice the manager WGS is. Both Manager's have faced tough oposition in europe, fact.

    Thread's going downhill fast.

This isn't about WGS & MON. If you want to debate their merits open a thread.

Put it back on track guys :50:

Who cares which manager is better than the other. The past has gone so let's move on.

There is absolutely no argument that the team just now is far from being what I would describe as strong.

The win at Ibrox has papered over the cracks of a shoddy defence. Other than maybe Caldwell and Wilson, the rest would should be out the door. Hinkel is out of position so often it's ridiculous. McManus won absolutely nothing in the air today, Miller threw him and Caldwell about. It's the same when we play against Nish. None of these two are great players, they are merely physical.

McManus is not good enough to be a Celtic player, never mind a captain. Strachan made a rod for his back when he chose him, he's shown too much loyalty to players he's signed and other's he favours such as McManus.

Everybody is calling for a striker to be signed in the window, what we really need is a classy centre half and decent full backs. Poor Robson gets hung out to dry when he plays there.

I think everybody pretty much agrees that Naylor is shocking and Hinkel stinks the place out every time he plays. The first two Aberdeen goals came down the right today.

Thankfully the Huns have been equally mince thus far, lets hope they don't continue to blast away the lead we had two weeks ago and go top, I don't know if the team has the stomach for a last season style comeback again.

I completelly disagree that Hinkle stinks the place out or that Wilson is better. German internationalist over a player who gets overlooked for his nation in favour of a * centre half, no brainer.

Yet one was capable of qualifying twice and the other wasn't on a far greater transfer and wage budget?

Like FTB said this is going miles off topic.

We aren't handing the SPL to anyone, we lost a game of football. * happens.

This isn't true Hammer, maybe on wages but not on transfers, GS has already outspent MON and he's still in his fourth term.
MON got 2 or 3 big signings and that was it.
