Give Balde A Break!

  1. I think people should lay off the OTT criticism. Like him or not, he's not the worst defender we've got and unlike Varga is quick and wins the majority of his tackles/headers.

    With the right person beside him, I think he can still do us a turn.

  3. Maybe your right but he get STUPID yellow cards like to nite ffs just say he tackled sum other * that could have been another yellow and we would have been in trouble soooo he need to get his act together so he does

  4. He's certainly more effective than Varga and McManus. I'm still not convinced by the latter.

    Of course he makes rash decisions but we have to accept flaws because we cannot afford the top players. However, he does have pace to recover if he does make a mistake.

    Oh, and by the way, the abusive comments and * that some people spout on this forum is getting beyond a joke. I thought this was supposed to be constructive. For example, the ridiculous remarks about Hartson, who incidentally has been superb in the last 2 games.

  5. Balde had a good game tonight, but he really should have cut out the rash decision making by now. As long as he wear's the Hoops, I'll support him, he can be a liability at times, but with the right partner he can also be a real positive for Celtic. Strachan has his work cut out with Balde, it will be intresting to see who plays at the back when everyone is fit. Perhaps dropping him at the weekend gave him a kick up the * he's needed.

  7. Yes, I don't think it did him any harm, whatsoever. MON was guilty of not doing this when players were clearly off form or not performing.

    When everyone is fit, I think Sutton might play in there but who will partner him is anyone's guess. It remains to be seen what happens with Virgo and Du Wei. I saw the latter at the game tonight and he's huge, even compared to Ramon Vega.

  8. A back four of Agathe, Wei, Kennedy and Virgo is the future. Balde will do us a turn until then. I would send Varga back with the Slovakians as he is hopeless!

    PS This forum is for expressing views, not attacking people, like BB says. Far too many of you are turning on folk who have views that are not consistent with your own.

  11. I think McManus has taken Varga's place tonight and when Agathe comes back Telfer will be shifted to Left back and Camara will be a sub.

  12. Camara did send in a great cross tonight thou for Beattie's goal. Not defending him is till think he looks really bad, especialy after that first leg.

  14. I have to admit that Bobo did not do a lot wrong tonight but i don't feel he was really tested. He has been terrible for far too long and unless he can wake up and smell the Coffee he will be a gonner!
