Ulster final should be do-able for Armagh next year, but I have concerns about our county as a whole going forward. Doubt we'll make any kind of an impact when it comes to playing in the latter rounds. So, winning a provincial championship would be a big achievement, at this point.

May can't come around soon enough for these games - love them!

I feel the same, don't have the belief in them to win such games. Wasn't that long ago the current All Ireland champions were beaten on the easy side of the draw.

Speaking of champions, it's a funny one, I know they've just been crowned, but I could see Tyrone scalping Donegal in the first round.

The history of ulster All Ireland champions appearing in the following provincial championship is a short one.

Tyrone won the All Ireland in 2008, in 2009 they were eliminated by Down in the opening provincial championship.

Tyrone again, 2005 and were eliminated by Derry in their first game.

Tyrone 2004 is an exception but never really had a tough game until the semis.

Armagh won in 2002 and in 2003 were eliminated by Monaghan in their opening ulster game.

I would prefer to have a go at Donegal if Armagh did reach the final. Tyrone are going to be a very big test for Donegal. However, I do expect a few retirements from Tyrone this year. They are a bit off the glory years.

They are put into the championship because Connacht only has 4 teams and the GAA are trying to make it a bit tougher :87:

I wish McDonnell would make a comeback for Armagh.

Don't know if this is a football only thread, but I only really support Antrim Hurling.

Got a great draw in the Leinster C'ship.

First game vs Westmeath. If they progress they'll play Laois, and if they beat them they'll play Carlow/London in the quarters.

I would like to see Steve back but the plan for Armagh football has just become a 3 year plan.

Question: Do the winners of the province ( Connaught, Ulster, Leinster, Munster) finals play in the semifinals and 2 semifinal winners play in the final for the trophy?

The provincial winners take 4 places from the last 8. The losers of the provincial final go through the qualifiers. There are then 4 teams who come through qualifiers to meet the provincial winners. The provincial winners cannot meet each other till last 4
