hey just wondering what do you think bout freddy adu were always ;linked to him and with our trip to play mls all stars i could see wgs talking to him there was also talk about nike supporting the deal

i would love to see wee freddy in the hoops would be great in europe and would be worth the pennies when he grows up seen him last week for real salt lake he came off the bench and his touch is phenomenal whats your views ill try find the link!!!!

hes over rated. man u are linked with him every window but no one ever makes a move for him.
yeah he has a bit of ball skill, can take on a guy and looks ok in the mls
but so does mcgeady

love the bit at 1min 47 though , thats the only bit of skill i seen there,
that and a good run for the first. he repeatedly nearly got it took off him which spl defenders would have got off him imo.
some of the clips of his skill is laughable though in that clip, it showed him scoring a deflected shot, shots getting blocked etc

shows some pace, but it just shows him passing the ball mainly... took a shot right at marshall. then scored a goal used good pace to do so.
putting on the magic... as said in the last few mins... he repeatedly nearly got it took off him, and celtic were shocking pre-season

 

Nah, really overrated

 

he looked a bit awkward at times, but he looks a quality player.

very quick, good shot and he is so young. maybe there is a chance to develope this guy further plus you have to think of the u.s money he could bring in, i think if he was available celtic would be foolish not to show an interest.

does anyone have an idea of the likely transfer fee?.

He is overrated. Americans who follow football are even starting to say this. But he would be good in the scheme of marketing. But expect to pay around 3 million for him.

 

The defending is so poor in that vid lol, id get him just to break the american market though.

But, even from that vid you can see hes nothing special if thats his best bits.

 

In the vid he seems to nearly fall over a lot when he trys tp get past people and just stays up

he is fast has a bit of skill hmit would be better getting naismith would would also cost less.

 

The only reason Clubs want him is due to American commercialism & sponsorship.
He's probably the best talent in America (why the clubs want him) & also the most sellable.
Thing is Americans don't really like football, cos they get beaten & canny hack it - they prefer the "World Series". Makes me laugh so it does!!

How can people say he is over rated at 18 ?

Do they think he is ronaldinho or something no he is 18 so he has still to vastly improve.

Robinho is over rated 21 for real madrid 12 goals in 63 games and he is a striker compaired to 11 goals in 87 games for dc untied by adu who is a attacking midfielder.

 

I hope your not comparing the quality of players in MLS to La Liga.

 

no but if you watch robinho he is better than miller at missing and giving the ball away.

 

He had a trial at man u and they said he was rubbish no chance

the mls aint a good league. the yanks are not that intrested in football. there more into rugby with hard hats. freddy adu has some skill. but tbh... if celtic sign him i'll be happy, only because he'll get us in the american market

 

We already have a big chunk of the American football market. I said this before. If I go to a sporting goods store I'm more likely to find a Celtic kit than a US national kit.
