Strange one. I'm not sure where he'd fit into the team now, and I was one who was pleased when he signed.

i think he was injured and is coming back but i could see him as a good impact player he's still pretty quick and knows how to create

when we signed him we were well short of Midfielders and I think he is still getting back to full fitness

Think he actually has a knee injury, seen this in the paper about a fortnight ago.
He would be a great asset on the training ground too with his vast experience. Albeit this is not he was signed for but at the end of the day it will prove more benefit than not, imo.

Hope he gets a start against Caley if he's fit, he needs a decent bit of game time to impress i rekon.

Neill Lennon did not sign a football player on the basis that he's a friend of Mjallby.

Ljungberg probably isn't worth the money we're paying him but I think it's clear he has been brought in to tutor some of the players in our very young squad. You would be hard pushed to find a player of Ljungberg's stature and with his experience, that could tutor our younger midfielders.

The players in our squad must be learning from Ljungberg every day and that will be great for them as they grow as footballers, even if the job he's doing is under-valued by the supporters.

Hopefully we get to see a bit more of him but I'm not too fussed if we don't.

Had a bad feeling about this even though I really liked him at his peak. Its pretty obvious he was a panic buy when Maloney and Forrest were out, Paddys fitness was in doubt, Commons wasnt on the horizon and the idea of playing Broony wide right hadnt occurred. All the same I have sympathy for managers in this day and age who only spend the 100s of thousand and the odd million or two in a market where our neighbours can routinely spend 10 times that and pay far higher wages. Its been like that now at Celtic for about 9 years now and all of our managers have been hit and miss when dabbling in relatively cheap players and offering not amazing wages. I even include MON in that because once he had spent the big money in his first year or two he struggled to find any new first pick players for about 3 years on a lower budget. So I dont really care if there if 2 or 3 dont work out if 6 or 7 do. That s just reality when you are a club with high standards but a wee wallet.

He's there to mentor our team as much as too play the occasional match. (I understood he was also out with a slight niggle)

I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually becomes a first team coach/trainer.

Well he's been a brilliant model for the superstore and the new fashion ranges.

He was bought to play a major part in the sucess of celtic football club , it's just the team are playing great recently and he can't get a look in. It must be a great feeling for the guy's who are keeping him out because of who he is. Freddie is no where near past it and still has a good few year's left in him.

This is getting a joke now, really think this was all a publicity stunt, but it's clear to see the fans are NOT impressed.

Think he was brought in to help out younger players on the training ground rather than play first team football.

I would go along with this point. I dont know if I am sticking my neck out here but statistics show the team has performed a lot better since his arrival.
Maybe just a coincidence but then again, maybe not. :celt_2:

My theory is Lennon knew Marc Crosas was leaving and got really upset with the idea of ugly * like Scott Brown and Fraser Forster being in the shop windows etc etc. So he went and got himself a model, Simples:bbpd:
