None more so than the second-half in young Francis Tuley coming into the game. I've only seen him in the last few days and you can see he's a football player. He does some wonderful things with the ball and has a natural instinct to get into the box. I was really pleased for him in that final half hour. But overall, another good exercise and another step up for us from the other night.

Saw a name I didn't recognise and thought we'd finally signed someone. :54:

His contract runs out next summer so I have no doubt he shows decent potential and then walks for free next year.

    The Celtic way.

    Rodgers speaking highly of him..

“you can see he’s a football player.”

Hope he has good people around him to keep his feet on the ground.

Perfect timing into the box and good finish but the two passes before made the goal.

Celtic youngster Francis Turley has withdrawn from Northern Ireland's U19 European Championship squad ahead of Monday’s opening game against Ukraine at Inver Park.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers opted to pull Turley out of the eight-team tournament so the Belfast-born player could participate in the Hoops pre-season tour of America. Last week, the teenager made a goal scoring debut for Celtic coming off the bench to find the net in a friendly win over Queen's Park.

Whilst NI U19 boss Gareth McAuley said: “It’s great for Fra to be part of the Celtic first team, however it’s disappointing for us as he was coming to the fore to be a key player for us.

"But it’s all about the development of the players and we wish Fra all the best, and we’ll see him further down the line

Excellent finish. But I was more impressed with Kyle Ure's ball to Oh in that move.

The taxi driver definitely wasn’t his Granda. But I’m sure the driver was still proud of him lol, especially if he was from Ardoyne also

Rodgers said: “The senior guys have done so well. We’ve seen some of the younger guys, players like Francis Turley, who has come into games and really come to note over the course of the pre-season period.

“With time and development he can be an excellent footballer. He’s got a good idea of the game, he’s technically good, he can be very strong. We just need to wait for the maturation with him, he’s only 18 years old, but I’ve liked what I’ve seen from the young players

Celtic have agreed a new long-term deal with Francis Turley.

The Northern Ireland youth international will sign a new four year contract with the Hoops. The 18-year-old is part of Stephen McManus’s B squad but has impressed Brendan Rodgers and the midfielder is a player for whom Celtic have high hopes.

The champions signed Turley from Glentoran’s youth set-up two years ago
