Try as I do, I honestly can't see why we should persevere with Fortune,
as I can't see him being the target man that will propel us to the SPL title.
He dozen't operate enough in the penalty box for me, takes far too much time dilly dallying on the ball, and seems to be becoming a greedy operator.
For £4M quid I expected much better to be honest, and last year he was a major disappointment to me. I reckon we should cut our losses and get shot of now, while me might get a few bucks on him.

    Feelings ?

There's a good player in there somewhere.

He scored some spectacular goals last season and seemed to relish the OF games.

    Worth another season.

hes not an out and out striker , he is a deep plying forward who creates play. him and skippy upfront would be immense ,skippy would feed off him. i say give him 1 more season and if hes crap then :bbpd:.

I'd like to wait and give him another half season at the very least and see how he does.

He'll never be a goalmachine. He simply don't score enough easy goals for that. Nearly every goal he score is by firepower.

I'm a big fan of Fortuné, but he is obvious not a solo target player. His force is the physic, pushing himself around in the box, waiting for the shot or pass. We should continue to pass the ball forward to Fortuné and then pushing players into the box.

Rasmussen in a natural finisher, but not a player that hold the ball on the edge of the field. Samaras is a winger, and is better on the pace, than moving around in tiny areas.

I think he just lacks football intellegance and if it's true that Lennon has told him to get more shot off then we are in trouble.how many times did keane go spare last season cos he couldn't spot a really simple pass, and now he has a licence to be greedy we are * cos his shooting is simply not good enough even though people will point to the screamers he scored

I think we'll keep him, can't see anyone coming in for him and thats how i would prefer it.

Fortune, Samaras and the others can play 2nd fiddle for us, I got no problem with that , but we need a number one "name" striker to play beside them, there is no doubt about it.

fortune isnt a prolific goalscorer but then thats not his job, he creates space in the box for other players, he's good at what he does so we should keep him.

So long as we have a goal-getter alonside him next season, we should be fine

he was also one of our only physical threats in the squad last season

I think the injury that kept him out for long periods last season really hurt him. I mean he got what 13 goals in 30 games? some of them being as a sub. I think he could do well this season with another box striker.

Willing to let him play out this season and see from there.

Fortune is a waste of 3.8 million, and to think he will ever be of value to Celtic is in my opinion wishful thinking!

Yes, i think alongside fortune we need to get a decent goal scorer to take advantages of the opportunities fortune can provide, otherwise he's just wasted
