ALAN PARDEW has warned Celtic – and any other potential suitors – that Fraser Forster is “not for sale”.
The Hexham-born giant has been in superb form for the Hoops this season, with the Parkhead outfit leading the way in the SPL.
However, while Forster’s extended loan deal with Celtic went through unnoticed on transfer deadline day in the aftermath of Andy Carroll’s controversial sale to Liverpool, Pardew is looking forward to welcoming him back to the club’s Benton base on the first day of pre-season training in the summer.
He told the Chronicle: “He’ll come back here next year and he’ll be trying to be No 1.
“I really like him – we’re keeping a close eye on him and his progress.
“You are talking about a guy who got a League One medal last year with Norwich and could get a Scottish Premier League one this year, in only his second full season.
“Some players play for 20 years and don’t get a medal at all. It’s an amazing opportunity for him.”

Pardew also has Tim Krul and Steve Harper on his books, with the Easington-born keeper in fine form this season.
The Toon boss has dismissed talk of Dutchman Krul leaving the club in the summer, and wants healthy competition at United.
He said: “We’ve got three good keepers. Harps is the No 1 at the moment and when the season ends we will reflect on how the season has unfolded.
“Who knows? We could get an injury and Tim goes in the goal for the rest of the season and does brilliantly.
“You can’t foresee what it is going to happen.
“All I know for certain is at the start of next summer I will have three good keepers.”

Really hope we could have got him :54:

if we can get westwood on pre-contract we would have nothing to worry about shame although the negative thread on him i quite like the big fella i think he will have a good career

Ats utter * :56:He's only 22 year old. Goalkeepers peak in their 30's and he's also got 12 cleansheets this season in 24 league games?

Actually don't want him long term anyway.

Would rather have Pareiko, but doubt that'll happen - as he is free & we didn't get him.

he's still a bombscare. our defence and midfielders hard work needs more credit in terms of what we've achieved defensively. he may go on to become a decent keeper, but he's never celtic class the now.

Is it because he doesnt have an ounce of eccentricity in his body. Cause he's not blessing himself infront of the Rangers fan.

The most cleansheets that Boruc had in a season was 15? Forster already has 12 and its only Feb. I think he'll beat Boruc's amount of cleansheets in a league season.

no. its because i think he's not good enough, decent shot stopper and thats it.

and as a non-religious person i couldn't give a * if Artur blessed himself, he showed his faith, good for him.

Agree with what you've been saying.
Feel like I'm repeating myself, but he's a fantastic, young keeper who has an incredibly bright future no matter where he goes.

    Gutted he can't stay.

Is he not good at corners or crosses. Do you remeber how poor Boruc was at this.

The only thing that Forster isnt good at is kicking.

boruc wasn't anywhere near as bad at corners/crosses as people made out, he had his odd blunder moment as any top class keeper does.

and forsters not great at cross balls as well, the amount of simple balls he drops out for corners is unreal.

Have to say I'm not Forster's biggest fan but that is quite an impressive fact.
